Try and see if you can blow it out first, sounds wierd but i do that sometimes to clear out my ear canals. the way you do it is stick 2 fingers up your nose or if your uncomfortible doing that you can just pinch your nose, then close your eyelids shut tight or else youll blow tears out of your tear ducts, next take your free hand and plug up the opposite ear with your finger and your ready to blow out your wax. Dont use to much pressure though.

Incredibly bad idea. The worst thing you could possibly do. Never do this under any circumstances.

I've known people who have given themselves major ear infections doing something like this to adjust pressure in their ears after an airplane lands. What you CAN do after landing is chew gum or yawn a few times. Either one will usually do the trick.

imaham259, if you are being sarcastic, forgive me.

Don't go overboard on the cerumen removal, though. Not only does cerumen have antibacterial properties, but it also has insect repellant properties.

yeah man, dont do anything to crazy with your own ears. once you mess them up, they are pretty hard to fix. If you have good insurance or the money, just go to the doctor. Home remedies for your ears would be a last resort in my opinion. By the way, ear candling is a big sham, and i can tell/show you proof if you want.

just called the University Health Services here at UT...earliest time i can get this fixed is TOMORROW. going to school with 50000 other people sucks! i'm hearing this soft constant ringing now...actually it's more like an alien spaceship sound, wooo wooo woo wooo wooo...should i be worried? i mean the thing i'm worried about is my ear being infected and me not knowing. however, if it is infected i would KNOW right? it would hurt quite a bit just by itself, even without me fooling with it. right? i'm pretty sure it's not infected, but there is a tad bit of irritation. anyway...can this wait another day???

If you're eardrum is going to rupture you would damn well know it by now. I'm not saying it's not serious, but if there was a real problem you'd be in real pain.

Don't panic. If you have an infection, antibiotics will clear it up. Yes, you can wait another day. Just don't go swimming or fly on an airplane. ;)

Don't worry. Tomorrow your doctor will blast your ear with some liquid, and you'll feel like a brand new man. All of a sudden you'll be able to hear perfectly. Meanwhile, you'll have some morbid curiosity to look at the big chunk of wax that came out, and wonder what the hell happened.

so i found another doc....and i just got back

apparently it's infected. i gotta go on antibiotics for a week...ear drops AND pills. FOR YOUR FREAKING EAR!!!!

AND I STILL CAN'T HEAR! well it's a little better.

she used this hydrolic syringe and "blasted" it...after three tries it got some gunk out but there's still some left. can you say WEAK?? last time i had this done they used a freakin WATER PICK and i was hearing like a baby right after. what is this weak piece of crap syringe she's using??

anyway i gotta go back next week and she'll "finish it off...." i kinda chuckled when she said that...

learn from my mistakes boys. don't mess with your ear if you don't know what the **** you're doing.

    the end.

    thanks for caring.

Stuff like pink eye and ear infections start annoying but can get serious real fast. When it comes to your senses, skimping on some bills might bite you back in the long run.

Everytime I get pink eye, I think of Ray Charles....

Why do you use ear plugs?

Is it because of the noise that those new 470 air conditioners make?
