Wrong. Smoking pot shows a disregard for the law and authority in general. I would never hire someone who smoked pot, not because I think they are pot heads or that they are less capable then others, but because they dont think they have to live by the same sociatal rules as others. And dont give me the line about speeding, thats week.
Had to take a piss test for a contract job working AT Apple in Austin (through a temp agency) but when I got hired later to work FOR Apple Computers, Inc there was no test. ??? I asked a manager why and he said casually "dude, are you serious? They'd have to fire all the managers first."
Yeah, it's been awhile since I touched the sticky greens. All I remember is taking Goldenseal and drinking cranberry juice. Oh yeah, drinking too much water can be dangerous. Anyone thinking of doing that should replace their electrolytes after the test.
As an officer of the court, I can admit that I still partake on a semi-regular basis but to allay your fears, you would never hire me because my salary demand would be way out of your price range. Weed doesn't grow on trees you know.
It's funny that you think you know me, my motivations, or my politics. It might surprise you to find out that I am for the legalization of ALL drugs, and that I am opposed to the drug war. I do not think pot is extraordinarily dangerous, nor a gateway to anything. If you had read my post, you could have seen that I never said that smoking pot was inherently bad, only that you could honestly pass your drug test. Maybe you were high at the time. I am against lying to your employer about commiting an offense punishable by prison time before you even start the job. Oh, and I could give 2 sh!ts about my post count. I didn't come here for a lesson in reading comprehension or posting etiquette, but that didn't seem to stop you from chiming in, did it?
Piss tests are r****ded and freakin' terribly unreliable for mar1juana. I've passed more than one within 48 hours of toking up. Maybe they're great at catching cocaine or PCP or something, but if you merely drink a lot of water or cranberry juice or ANYTHING, really, you'll be fine. I used to have a buddy who took piss tests for his probation and he'd regularly smoke the night before his test and just drink water. Never got caught. Remember, you don't have to test negative, just inconclusive. Do you realize how many people would flunk these tests if they actually caught weed in your system? Hundreds of thousands! Now tell me how many people you know, hell, how many people you've HEARD OF that have ever flunked a piss test. I'll bet it's right around zero. Hair tests might be different, but I've never encountered anyplace that actually employed this method.
LOL! Yeah, you have to watch out for those and double-check them when you're correcting others' typing. Because you know you're a marked man at that point. All in good fun, though... no harm meant.
Typically with those type of posts I write them up in Word and then copy into the browser. Of course I didnt do that this time and we see the result.
I work at a similar company. There would be very few people left if they tested here (including yours truly). During the short time I was unemployed last year, I had an opportunity to work a temp job at Dell (OH THE HORROR). It was a 5 day assignment doing simple data entry. They wanted me to take a pee test. I thought that was hilarious and turned them down. To me, if you can't control yourself enough not to get high before you go to work or if it is truly affecting your work or your life in general, you should quit. Luckily for me, I haven't gotten to that point, yet. Back to the point of this thread, Sur-Jel has worked for me 4 out or 4 times. It's disgusting, but it works.
