because he was the first sitting vice president to shoot a man since Aaron Burr.

He shot a dude in the face with a shotgun. For novelty alone - that's news. If it's too shamefully undignified for you, perhaps you should turn off your television and concentrate on the serious pursuits such as reading Herodotus in the original Greek.

Why not? It is not like radical muslims knew Cheney's friend would be shot and take to a certain hospital.

I just don't think the P and the VP go anywhere without days of preparation and security sweeps. Can anyone substantiate this?

The Vice President of the United States of KAMerica just shot some dude in the ger rillz.

If it was joe schmoe, it would be just another story. I don't think it matters what political affiliation they belong to, but the fact that it was him, makes it pretty newsworthy.

    in the ger rillz.

you're right a vice president shooting a man in the face & chest and reporting 20 hours later is not a big deal.. its not as news worthy or impeachment worthy as a president getting consentual oral sex..

If it was Gore, it would be completely acceptable to report this until all the details could be provided w/out putting the nation into a frenzy. If it was reported immediately, nobody would know the condition right away. The libpigs would all be lined up ready to hang Cheney. There was no coverup. It was a matter of releasing facts, not frenzy.

He has been indicted, but not convicted. I don't know how it is equally unlikely a crime has never been committed. We now know that Plame was definitely undercover overseas which would meet the 1983 staute's requirements. We also know that it damaged the U.S. monitoring of Iran's nuclear capability.

Because most of the people that post in this political threads either see red or blue. If it was Gore, the Big 3 would be talking about a cover-up or scandal while the remainder of you libpigs would consider it no big deal. Deny it if you want, but its the way it would turn out.

For the umteenth time, he wasn't impeached because of the oral sex. What I think? He was a moron to deny it. I don't approve of any president or any person doing these kinds of acts while they are in office. While they maybe human, then need to remember that they represent this country. Slick Willy got caught and was made to be a fool. The impeachment was as silly as all the current talk of impeaching Bush. Even though he commited purgery, what he lied about was very insignificant and created an embarassment to him, his administation and the people. The whole impeachment was a complete waste of time by a bunch of bitter conservatives ... but its no more different than the bitter liberals at this time.

so its the same thing.. people are still going to talk about it.. but in this case, it will be the other side..

same thing with cheney, people are talking about it because of how he handled it.. reporting the shooting after 20 hours.. and apologizing even later..

so impeachment=media coverage? so how much has taxpayers paid for both scandals?

Ummmm....One beer. LOL. THATS why the LONG delay in the reporting of the shooting.

You have to ask yourself. Is this appropriate actions for anyone else? Or is the VP above reporting the incident, subjecting himself to alcohol testing like everyone else? Obviously, he believed he was allowed to do what HE felt.

Didn't the state of Arkansas think his lying about it to a watching Nation and to a Grand Jury when he was Chief Executive of the United States was "newsworthy" enough to remove his license? Legal not Drivers...
