Question about box score stat meaning

    how about this one...
    if a player shoots a 3 pointer but it bounces off the rim and out of bounds, does it count as a turnover?

    that is what I thought before Bill and Calvin said it the other way around... but even they didn't really sound to sure although they said it would count as an assist lol

    That is a missed shot, not a turnover, and a team rebound to the opposing team.

    Yup MrRolo, that is exactly where I heard that answer, from Calvin Murphy during halftime of a rockets game. Was Murph correct?

    Anyone have anything definitive?:confused:

    i'll chop off both my arms if you get an assist on a missesd shot with a foul where the guy hits both free throws. definitive enough?
