Because Lady Gaga is a huge Queen fan so she would likely see it as a dream come true scenario where she gets to front one of her life long favorite bands. It wouldn't hurt her to get in front of more straight rock oriented fans as well. While she may be the biggest thing right this moment in order to become an all time great you must find ways to completely break down the barriers of rock/pop/rap/country...etc. Personally I would live to see someone as show oriented as Gaga front Queen. I really hope it happens.

These were my initial thoughts as well. Gaga also has just released an album this year (and I am not even sure that she has completed the tour dates to support it). So there is a general question of immediate availability.

From some of the Brian May quotes wrt Gaga writing her own songs, I am now thinking that May is angling for a one-off Queen + Gaga project CD plus tour (and likely Live CD/DVD).

Queen certainly has more to gain from such a collaboration. Not so sure about Gaga. But if she did decide to do a Queen project/tour, I don't think it hurts her career and likely the CD and tour would sell gonzo.

For the record, I would buy a Queen + Gaga project CD, go the concert and buy the Live DVD.

Lady Gaga is a pretty good musician but I doubt she has the same range as Freddy Mercury, few do. Also while she is a showman like most big recent acts so much of her show depends on heavily choreographed dance numbers. Freddy Mercury didn't need that to hold the audience attentions.

While I am a Queen fan I will probably skip a Gaga Queen tour.
