Two wrongs don't make a right.

The man shot them while they were running away…

He should have allowed the authorities to take care of it. Nobody’s life was in danger at that point, which means he had no right to shoot them. I don’t know how morally you can justify such an act, the man’s 61, I guess in his time it was common to shoot at colored people.

I can't see how anyone can listen to this and not think Joe Horn is a hot head..

The entire call was six minutes long and the police were outside when Joe Horn went outside. Six minutes is a decent response time.

It is well beneath me to spend even one moment of my time on anything that you post, simply because your logic and posting quality is literally in the bottom 5% of the D&D. That said, I will generously donate 30 seconds of my time to tell you that a legal defense fund does not prove what you suggest, but instead anticipates the threat of a lawsuit. That threat, in this day and age, can come regardless of guilt or innocence. Everyone who is taken to court is not automatically guity. I can't believe I have to explain that to any adult... wow.

Listening to the 911 tape, he definitely was ready to kill. Now if they were breaking into his house, like that other shooting a few days after this one, then there would be no problem.

On to another part of this, the fiance of one of the guys who was killed was on channel 2. The girl was good looking and well-spoken. From the way she talked and carried herself, she was educated or atleast knew how to fake it. So why in the hell was she engaged to a f'n thief? Seriously, what is going on with that? Pathetic.

If he wanted to kill someone couldnt he have been like the thieves and just gone out and broken the law? Why did he wait for someone to break into his neighbors house? Why did he call the cops?

I dont think what he did was right but I dont think he was looking to kill someone.

if you think my logic was that bad, why did you feel the need to response to it and explain yourself?

I think RR meant that he wanted to kill these guys not that he wanted to kill someone (in the abstract).

I dunno: "you wanted to kill someone. . so you killed someone .. .you a cold blooded murder . . .accept your crown and your title"

Sounds like RR is saying this guy just needed any excuse to kill someone. But if that was true I think he'd have a record of some kind.

RR was probably basing his opinion on the 911 call Mr Horn made that night

Joe Horn seized the opportunity to carry out his personal vendetta (on a certain type of demographic, whether black or burglars or combination of both) on the grounds that he would be able to get away with it.

    Two reasons:

    1. Anger like that doesn't just appear out of thin air.

    2. He was WELL AWARE of the law, even stated the "new Texas law" that would enable him to do so. All of this doesn't add up to being an instinctive reaction of self defense.

Basically, he wanted to kill someone(of a certain demographic) and get away with it(legally)- plain and simple. That's the answer to your question of why he didn't just go out and kill someone, or commit a crime "like the burglars".

    He's a murderous law abiding son of a b*tch.

It's amazing how people decide to side with the burglars in this thread. Your insertion of race is pure wishful thinking on YOUR part, not Joe Horn's. You love to paint others as racist. Sounds like you're the one with the problem, snoopy.

You are a perfect example of someone I cannot stand. You make it into a race issue when it isnt. You are the racist! You and people like Quanell X are the people causing the problems.

None of us are siding with the burglars. I would love nothing more than for them to have been prosecuted.

Those of you backing Mr. Horn are justifying cold-blooded murder. I am far from an apologist of criminals and I'm far from a bleeding heart liberal as I'm sure most people here can attest to. However, the law is the law. Mr. Horn broke the law and after hearing the 911 call and seeing that he shot the burglars in the back I am becoming more convinced that he should be prosecuted for the two murders he committed.

I agree and this line of argument bears an uneasy similarity with the arguments that if you criticize anything the Admin. has done in the war on terror you are siding with the terrorists. Noone here wants to see crime go unprosecuted

I still don't understand the Texas law enough to say that Horn broke the law but I think anylaw that would encourage civillians to needlessly put themselves into dangerous sitautions is a very reckless.
