Quanell X humiliated, marginalized by large crowd in Pasadena

The Nation of Islam kicked Quanell X for inciting violence (his famous River Oaks quote). He's now a member of the New Black Panthers.

He's a local media hound/rabble rouser/ambulance chaser. IIRC, the Nation of Islam booted him out a long time ago. Not surprised you hadn't heard of him since you don't live in Houston. One of these years he's gonna find the spotlight of a national news story if he works hard enough.

Their excitment in this thread shows how in their own way Bigtexx and TJ are as racially motivated as Quannel X. Given the whole historical picture of the South I think it is more forgiveable that Quannel X is so racially motivated. I do find him irritating.

I do think Joe Horn should be charged with something. Put him on probation and require him to go to classes and do community service. It is too vigilante for me and I don't think people should be encouraged to kill people who they believe are burglars at neighboring houses.

Some of the particular cases such as police brutality that Quannel X has been involved in have been worthwhile causes.

I think the guy needs to go to jail. I think it's sick that Texas law protects people who kill other people over stuff. But it does. He is protected by the newest version of castle doctrine law.

1. DD - You are ok with the expansion of the right to defend your home. . being extended to the right to defend your neighbor's home? QUESTION: Who is your Neighbor? Guy next door? Guy down the Street? Guy in you City? State? Country?

I don't feel the local police are doing the job so me and my friends will patrol the neighborhood with guns and bats. . and blast any bugular/criminal we see? Are you TRULY ok with that?

If yes. . . then you saying it is ok for me to roll with a gun and look for criminals like policemen do . .. hell why could I see a drug dealer and simply shoot him . . show he has drugs on him . .and say . . I'm rolling Joe Horn Style?

The problem is that Joe Horn did not know the burglers did not have a gun, just as in the Sean Taylor case, where burglers DID have a gun.

He tried to make a citizens arrest......I am ok with him shooting them, and come on over to my neighborhood RR, I would love to have you as a neighbor !

I hate to interrupt this discussion, but are you aware that the word "are" needs to be inserted in between the words "they" and "now"? I say this for your benefit, not my own. I'm not sure why this grammatical error is so prevalent in today's society -- but it definitely is.

but the point is . . .for crime statistics purposes
they would be considered black
but
for employment statistic purposes they would be considered hispanic

While in and of it self. . . it sounds petty to point out
policy. . not to mention perception . . . is created and maintained by these statistics. Simple designations like that can be why this school gets this and this one doesn't . . why this person is profiled and this one is not

I could use the new JOE HORN PRECEDENT to go around shooting Drug Dealers in the face. . . if somene finds a gun on them . .then I a REALLY all good. In the short run it maybe good .. but over time we become the wild west

Where are you getting the "citizen's arrest" bit from? I mean, he clearly says he's not gonna let them get away with it; "I'm gonna kill them". You can hear he never says anything like stop or freeze when he confronts them, he says "you're dead" then starts blasting.

The way I see it, he was angry that these guys were seemingly going to get away with a home invasion in broad daylight and he decided to take the law into his own hands.
