Ft Worth nightlife > Dallas nightlife

I'm more of a bar guy and Ft Worth is big enough to bar hop to a few bars but small enough to where everything is within reasonable walking distance.

Dallas uptown is a cesspool of pretentious young kids.

yeah, Fort Worth scene is interesting. It's mixed everywhere. Sundance Squares has your usual douche places, but then has the Flying Saucer too.

West 7th/Cultural area has a mix of pubs, taverns, and also places like Barcadia mixed in which are a little more mainstream. There are also live music places over there like Lola's and The Grotto. If you like foosball, The Grotto has 5 tables and tournaments every now and then. The pubs like Ye Olde Bull & Bush are my favorite. if you like hanging out where the bartender and owners all have scottish and english accents and you can watch rugby on TV (and if you're really really good at darts) then its the place for you. Great jukebox if you like punk/new wave and classic rock.

TCU has the usual college-scene bars and a kick-butt cheeseburger at Charlies.

Southside has a weird mix of Speakeasys, internet bars, and patio bars with live music.

The Stockyards is all country bars - nothing else. But then again, you won't find country bars Anywhere else in FW But the Stockyards.
