I'm proud to say I don't know much about Dallas, so could use a Mexican restaurant recommendation near Irving. I'm striking out with friend responses, appreciate any tips. On plane now. Be in town for two days on bizness. I'll be at Verizon campus in Irving at some nearby marriott. Would love to checkin and get some good Mexican tonight Regarding my tastes, my Goto in Houston is el Paraiso. Quality enchiladas and great salsa, and I'm a happy man tia
Is this the first thread title containing the words "quality" and "mexican" ? Has to be a first amirite?
Not sure about a good Mexican food spot. Check out Cool River Cafe in Las Colinas which is very closeby.
Go down MacArthur road towards Valley Ranch. There should be a Mi Cocina in a complex with Starbucks, Chick Fil A etc. Anamia's in Coppell off Denton Tap road is another one. I haven't been around the area in a minute but it should still be there. You should also be paging DFWRocket. I think he lives and works around the Irving/Grapevine area.
this on'es in carrollton, where i'll be this weekend.... and i'll be stopping by this place during my visit. http://www.theagaveazul.com/Home.php
Danal's in South Irving is really good. I've been about 50 times. It's a hole in the wall. Here is their menu and address: http://www.danals-restaurant.com/page9.html
In the area - La Hacienda Ranch off 121 - 5 min from the airport is the best. Esparzas in Grapevine is pretty good and 5 min north of the airport. or get out of that crappy area and head to Fort Worth - La Familia on Foch street is excellent Joe T Garcias in the Stockyards is pretty darn good and has a great atmosphere - largest patio I've ever seen.
Before you even ask, my dear caucasian friend, I don't know of any. YES, ALL MEXICANS KNOW ALL MEXICAN RESTAURANTS IN THE UNITED STATES suck.
Ummm... usually it's not us that dictate which dishes or what they should have in the cheaper places you visit. It's Chad Huffington or Blaine Wilmington who own the places we cook. In the rare times it's us calling the shots on what the restaurant serves, we aren't going to serve you "enchiladas with yellow 'American' cheese." That's a Tex/Mex thing. Try Sylvia's Enchiladas.
