It all depends on how Thabeet plays, I'm excited to watch him. (and Terrence is gonna contribute well too)

I wouldnt want to reduce either of their minutes, Martin is what like #3 in points per 48, sure his defense is atrocious but we need his scoring.

Anyone who says yes to this question needs to have their head examined. In the short term of course not. In the long term, it remains to be seen. For once, we didn't do the pouncing.

To open up roster space for possible free agents coming out of waiver?

Should have started the day after Yao was re-injured (or even earlier), but better late than never.

rockets also saved 3 million in luxury tax for this year

add up smith and battier and then subtract it by thabeet. you will get like 2.9 M

thabeet salary for next year is 5 M so his cost is actually 2 M

rockets also get a 1st round pick. everybody knows even the last pick in the 1st round goes for 3 M

cbud gets the chance to shine and rockets get a project at C and save money at the cost of no battier for 2 months

DM should have traded jeffries and the 1st round pick from the griz or suns to the cavs for a cavs 2nd round pick (cavs have a lot of trade exception)

and get under the luxury tax

u guys know at the end of the day, this is a business right?

probably would have caused a lot of bad PR though and selling the 1st round for 3 M would be the save at the end in terms of dollars

If Hasheem Thabeet becomes the next Mutombo (all boards and D -- clogging the middle and swatting a few shots), then awesome. That's exactly what need out of him.

I have no idea at all if this makes the team better this season, but I like that we now have a genuine defensive center and two picks this June.

We got worse today and long term depending on how the picks turn out. After all this, I hope T-Will still doesn't even sniffhis way from the end to the middle of the bench........ He isn't "entitled" to playing time just because he can dunk.
