Every fan base has its morons and its smart ones.

But after regularly reading lakersground during the Dwight process, I would say they have much younger fans in the early teens (or I hope that's how old they are), they have just as much % morons as anyone else, but the key thing is that they have few reasonable fans because a LOT of them are REALLY delusional. It is also rampant with Kobe-only fans.

Their delusions are incredible, they still think the only reason Dwight left is because he doesn't want the pressure. PRESSURE? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? He's Houston's only hope for a ring, whereas LA clearly communicated to him that he is not so critical to winning on the Lakers.

As long as the Lakers are winning, it's the best place to play all else constant. But just like NY, when that team stops winning, it will go into a huge dark phase where they will be paying more money than anyone else, to be in the bottom 10 teams in the league. They don't seem to realize that with Buss, D'Antoni, and the oldest core players in the league (and most immodest to boot), they are on the verge of a very very dark period in Lakers history.

I guess you can say it is a by-product of winning for so long. That doesn't make their overall fan base any less unpleasant though. To that kind of board, it was blasphemous to even say that for most of the next 3 years, James Harden is likely to be a better player than Kobe Bryant. Many of them believe Gasol is better than Howard at C. Many of them believe that Dwight should have waited one season for the possibility of nabbing a superstar on the open market, because two superstars in LA in a year is better than 2 superstars in Houston now plus we have all our picks and tradeable assets to go after a 3rd.

It's good for them. Once they realize that the most pressure-filled option Dwight had was to be the first major FA to say "no thanks" to the Lakers, they will come back down to earth a little bit.
