Yes! Arizona is one I think of off the top of my head, there have been others too. The Oilers had Warren Moon and drafted Jim Evertt and traded him to the Rams for a haul.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A QB NEEDY TEAM!

    No we won't.

I'm sorry, is this argument or abuse?

Many are high on Penix. I've been hearing a lot of good things about him. He reminds me of DARE I SAY, a young left handed DW4.

I wouldn't draft him with the Browns pick, I would trade down to the 20's but I think there is a possibility he goes in Rnd 1, if he pass his physicals.

Better than any prospect this year.
And you wanted Stroud for a while, Ohio St has a far worse track record.
Multiple first round busts, and even more busts over all

Just a side note. Maye was an Alabama commit that de committed to be a legacy at NC.

Penix isn’t going in the first round with 4 season ending injuries and 2 torn acls in the same knee. His injury history is even worse than Davis Mills was. Not sure how people can be so worried about Bryce Young’s durability and then choose to after a very injury prone player instead. Wouldn’t touch Penix before the 3rd or 4th round.

If I'm thinking about picking Maye or Williams I'm not picking a QB until late in the draft say the 5-6 th rd. Guys I like are Duggan and Rising.

I like Maye but if you go by him being an original bama commit then you have to acknowledge Joe Burrow being an Ohio state qb also.

    Hear me out....

Here's why I'd draft Bryce Young, in case you needed another reason.

He's a great prospect, just doesn't have size. Quarterback is the most critical position in sports. You have to draft a quarterback.

Draft Bryce this year. See what he's got. If he's not convincing, or gets severely injured, you draft another quarterback next year. If he is convincing, and you do not need to draft a quarterback next year, you still have a high pick, and you're in prime position for a mega haul trade back. Wouldn't it be nice to have another year of two, or three first rounders? Maybe you get multiple firsts? If you're on the fence with Bryce, draft another quarterback, let them compete and then trade whoever loses out.

I just think for the people saying that drafting a bust can set you back 10 years, they're not looking at our specific situation. Drafting Bryce Young this year (or whatever quarterback you fancy), can actually result in springboarding your contention window 2 years into the future, in the perfect scenario.

It makes no sense to wait a year when you have a top pick, if you like a QB. Draft him, and then if you have to, draft another next year. These next three years are the time for us to secure our next 15 years.

Just something to think about. Something nobody talks about.

Texans are not going to suck another season for a QB. It is basically Young or bust.

Williams has a lot of Mahomes in him though.

They're going to suck another season whether Young's the QB or not.

The team has glaring holes that can be fixed in free agency and the draft. With a new coaching staff there’s no way they should be that bad realistically. Our division is relatively weak as well.

#1. They will have another draft class.
#2. They will have a **** load of money for Free Agents.

    This.
You won't fix this team in one off season but you can fix it enough to make some measurable progress.
You then build on that in the off season after that.
Texans can be competitive in the south again in 2 off seasons and if you hit on a top 10 - 15 QB in a draft the effect will be compounded.
