I'm some what shocked the Texans only have 2 QBs and none on the Practice Squad. Are they looking for someone in particular?

Shouldn’t be shocked, it’s Mills team. Have to see if he’s the guy or not

I am still convinced we will see that Mills is not the guy.

Remember, we're likely to have a top 3 pick, and definitely have the ammo to get a top 3 pick if we don't. Mills doesn't needs to be more than Kirk Cousins or Baker Mayfield or even Jalen Hurts for us not to draft a QB. He needs to be closer to a top 10 guy.

    Fat chance.

Mills is already better than Hurts as a QB.
If he turns out to be Cousins level QB that’s a win.

If Mills puts up 4200 yds at 66% with 33/7 TD/Int ratio and 104 rating. He’s a keeper.
People talk so much **** about Cousins, but the dudes numbers since becoming a starter are hall of fame level numbers if done over the course of your career.
He doesn’t have postseason success, but neither do a lot of guys that put up numbers.

There are maybe 2-3 guys in the league that can carry a team with average or below average overall talent.

    Playoffs?!? HOF?!?

    He's 59-59-2 as a starting QB.

Not sure what your point is. His numbers are better than most HOF numbers. You can not like him and say he hasn’t won in the playoffs, but his numbers are undeniable.
    As a starter he’s over 100 passer rating, 67% completion percentage, 205/72 TD/Int, averages over 4200 yds a season. And 57-52 as a starter.

Like I said, his numbers speak for themselves. If he playoff success (largely team related) he would be considered a top tier QB

This is Cousins compared to Brady as a starter.
The numbers are quite similar, outside of playoff success and team record.

If Mills can be like Cousins, trade him for multiple first round picks.

I wouldn’t be against this either. If he puts up good numbers the next two seasons and you can get multiple firsts for him you do it.

I think Kirk Cousins is the model of failure in the NFL. Will put up good enough numbers that people on the internet will argue for you, as a good quarterback, but in reality, he will limit your team by never advancing them in the playoffs while convincing you that there's always next year.

We had that in Matt Schaub, to an extent. I don't want to run on that mediocrity to average treadmill, as a fan.

The problem with that is he’s like most top tier statistical QBs, including Watson.

There are only 2-3 guys that can take any team and win. Brady, Rodgers, maybe Mahomes. We will see how he does without Hill

Burrow, Josh Allen, possibly Wilson, and in a year or two Herbert say hi.

Other funny thing is Watson is 28-25 as a full time starter. Cousins is 57-52-2 as a full time starter. Not much difference.
If, and it’s a big if, Mills can put up numbers similar to Cousins. That’s a win.

No doubt, they can be in the conversation. But have to show it at championship level according to some here (Wilson has but has also flamed out with lesser talent)
I’m a big believer in all the QBs you mentioned.

I get your point, but the optics say otherwise. I don't think Cousins is ever winning anything. The situation the Texans are in now, with the draft ammo they have, I think you take a shot at one of the top guys if you're convinced they're better.

Stroud is Mills. Young is too short.
Levis is the best physical prospect but he’s older.
If Mills puts up those numbers you roll with him and take the top defensive talent

I would like to see Mills with Thielen and Diggs/Jefferson for a season or two.
