Lamar is showing he has progressed with his passing this year. He has to show he can do anything in the playoffs, not resort to bad habits.
But……it would be dumb to sign him to the richest deal (what he’ll get) for a QB with this team. They’re not there yet, probably two years away still.
Plus, Lamar isn’t even close to the top guys in the league.

You would have to give up multiple #1s before the Ravens consider trading Jackson. No thanks.

And I honestly don't see the Texans paying Lamar. People must be joking if they think Texans going to pay him that much.

I think Lamar is easily in the Top 3 or 5 at his position and if you can get a top player at the most designated position in Football, you get him! Especially, while he's still young.

I think it would take a pkg similar to what the Texans received for Deshaun, since the Ravens and Jackson are at odds. If you can give them the Browns picks and a future #1 and #3, you do it.

The salary cap is increasing and the Texans will have money moving forward, plus their own picks. If they got Lamar, other players would want to come play with him and if they were to trade for Jackson, their only needs will be WR, RB, DL and LB, which I think they can fill in the Draft and FA. Not saying I think it will happen but it's NOT out of the realm.

How about a fully guaranteed 300 million dollar contract

That's a lot of $$ but I can see it over 7yrs. When you look at how salaries are increasing and his talents, its possible. Also, I can easily see him still being able to maneuver when he's in his mid 30's, similar to Randall Cunningham.

Be it here or somewhere else, he's going to get PAID.

Get your QB, If Nick believe in any of those guys take them. The argument building the rest of the roster is strange to me when teams like Atlanta and Seattle who has just as many holes as the Texans will still go QB over any other position.

IDK who they draft at QB, just find the guy you believe in and picked them up.

The only reason I'm open to securing a QB first, is because of how I see the Colts. They were built like how many on this board are suggesting the Texans should go....build at every other position, then go get your QB.

The problem with that is, you become MEDIOCRE; good enough to win but not bad enough to lose and you are constantly picking between 15 - 25. So you never will be able to draft a Top QB. Very rarely do Top QBs fall out of the Top 15; Rogers and Jackson falling as far as they fell are rare. Either you get lucky or you will have to pkg several picks to get up into a spot to draft one.

If Caserio feel Young, Levis or Stroud is a 10yr QB draft him!

Lamar is not a top 3-5 QB

He’s on the rise but he’s closer to 8-12 range.
If he continues to develop as a passer and reading defenses he could be a top 5 guy.

Why people continue to discount Lamar Jackson is beyond me. A QB who accounts for nearly 80% of his team's production with his only true weapon being a TE and he's racking up over 100 yards rushing and over 200 yards passing. How do you stop him? He can hurt you on the ground and through the air.

People discount Lamar because up until this year has been a single read, predictable passer. More runner than actual QB.
He also has no postseason success, mainly because he’s too easily game planned for as a passer in Romans system.

If, and it’s still a big if even with his hot start, he becomes more QB than runner he will catapult into that upper echelon.

I’m sure this will change as the year goes on, but my dream scenario is we have the first pick and Cleveland has a top 10 pick.
    Get Will Anderson and Levis.

I really want to like Young or Stroud but I can’t. Even the radio today said “I know stroud is an OSU qb, but he’s different than the others, better” I’m an OSU fan, and they say that literally every year an OSU qb comes out and every year they don’t measure up. Young has drew Brees mind and mobility, but even shorter with Kyler size minus the speed. I guess I would take him over stroud, but not sure I want either.

Honestly. I figured Cleveland would be 4-0 they had the absolute easiest schedule in the league for first 4 games and it wasn’t close. They don’t get Watson til week 13. They lost one of their first 4 and almost lost another. Myles Garrett may miss some time too. It could get worse for them.

A player who has amassed a MVP Season, a Playoff victory and who is on the cusp of another MVP Season in his first 3.5 Seasons is pretty good.

If we drafted Young, Stroud or Levis this yr and they did the same things their first 3.5 yrs as Jackson, these same people who are downplaying Jackson's accomplishments would be talking about how great that player is.

I feel you. I'm not 100% sold on either one but if I had to choose right not it would be in this order; Young, Levis, then Stroud but let the yr play out.

He’s not winning MVP this year lol, that is going to be Allen’s to lose.
And Lamar has been terrible in the playoffs.
He got a fluky MVP because he can put up numbers in a gimmick offense.
Lamar has only just started to play QB at an acceptable level.

It's strange how people view players. Both Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen both came into the league at the same time as super raw players, playing the same style.

Lamar has a MVP to his name and a playoff victory while Josh Allen has 3 playoff victories and both have progressed in similar fashions.

So I ask, why do some rate Josh as a Top 5 QB and not Lamar??
