No, I haven't lost my way, I'm just tired of watching people fight a winless argument. This is one of those subjects that leave permanent resentments in people and I don't think this BBS needs that. What can I say, I care.
I thought DaDakota explained it, Htownhero. I appreciate other posters who don't agree with me and are established in my view as being well-meaning, and baseful in their posts. It helps me grow and be a better poster. Heck, I highly regard shanna and glynch as one of the smarter posters here because of the thought that is put into posts. While I don't agree, I many times respect their view...I think DaDakota will agree. heck, they might even hug at the game tonight....Nevermind DaDa will hug someone else

3 - is not possible. It wouldn't be any more horrible now than it would have been when it was printed. There is no reason in the world that it would have been printed in the past and denied now. I refuse to accept this unless you have a link to the article or a copy of the article. 4 - is not possible. You said it was weak, and you are right. There is a reason that this cannot be proven. It is because it was not printed by a legitimate source (media from a country with a free press). Q8, propaganda is worthless. It's purpose is to sway public opinion, not inform. You know that the things you printed aren't true, and you know that the authors who wrote them don't think they are true. If there is some political position you want to support, try doing it with legitimate information. LYING WILL GET YOU NOWHERE. Peacekeepers, Will does this for a living. He is in a business that has been historically beaten down and abused by entities that have an interest in controlling the flow of information. Sooooo...... you shouldn't be surprised at all if you get a fire and brimstone speech out of him when someone sneaks into his rec room and starts lighting fires. Also, I don't think that liar is too strong a word. I will gladly assume Q8 is smart enough and aware enough to realize the information he is spreading is propaganda and not news. Q8, another word of advice. Stop trying to believe lies now! I have known energetic, misguided people who have spent their lives trying to find a purpose for their passion. In the US they become Lyndon LaRouche followers or Scientologists. In your part of the world the results are a little more alarming. The only thing to be in life is an idealist. I'm not normally one to be preaching about this type of thing, but in this particular case I feel strongly that I am on the high ground. If you care as much as it seems you do, try finding what is really going on. The world is crazy enough already. It doesn't need lies to make it more interesting. It doen't need lies to make it worth living in.
I probably shouldn't say any more in this thread, but I'll add just one thing. The falsehood of this propaganda is a separate issue from the question of a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I believe that Israel should freeze settlements immediately and then withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza strip with some very small exceptions, recognizing a Palestinian state (including East Jerusalem) in exchange for security guaranteed by the United States or another mutually approved outside entity. This is pretty close to the deal Barak offered and Arafat rejected last year. I believe that Israel's obstruction of this Palestinian state hinders, not helps, the development of a Palestinian Authority security force capable of putting Hamas and the PFLP out of business. I don't have much faith in Arafat, but I think history shows that people don't develop a sense of responsibility if they don't have autonomy. Spreading falsehoods about injecting kids with AIDS doesn't help us get there.
