Man I would love Ariza. He could be our Josh Howard, young athlete giving us energy at the swing position. But we're not going to get anything done with expiring contracts. NY doesn't dump contracts. That's not their m.o. They aquire talent, regardless of the costs.
I would take him...being able to score the ball is something this team sorely needs. I think he would be the 3rd scorer the team needs to compliment Tmac and Yao. I don't give a rats ass about salary....I could care less about the luxury tax.... Just get some good players in here.....and the rest is only relevant to Les. DD
he's too one dimensional. he was so much more with the clippers, now he's just a bigger, less accurate damon jones.
Being a Knicks fan, I've seen Q play alot this year (unfortunately). His defense has actually been alot better than his offense this year. He's been a consistent defender but can't shoot to save his life. It's not like he's missing contested shots, most of them are wide open. He's just not a spot up shooter and seems to be better at 3's in transition. Q is damaged goods, another Larry Johnson minus the heart and intensity. Back injuries are a b****
straight up for wesley why wouldnt anyone do it throw in a draft pick we need a gunner there couldnt be a better fit. the knicks have been terrible nobody knows there roles there a mess maybe brown wants to get fired his rotation and substitution pattern are mind boggling yao mutumbo howard swift Tmac anderson Q-rich barry alston head that lineup can matchup with any team
Except Damon Jones can handle and distribute the ball. Quentin Richardson is can't shoot 2-guard, has never played point guard, and whose claim to fame in college was rebounding not scoring.
A couple people have already touched on this but it's really unfotunate what his game has become. He was much more of a complete player as a Clipper. He did everything there. He was a dynamic scorer that could put the ball in the hole from anywhere, not just shoot three's. He was a competant, aggressive defender that's always been an excellent rebounder. He was exciting to watch and tough assignment for the opposing team. Then once he got to Phoenix with their run-and-gun style his game completely changed. He went from a the versatile threat he was to a catch-and-shoot player despite his excellent athleticism and ability to score from anywhere. He's the kind of player that could potentially make a difference on a team like the Rockets if he changed his style of play to become less one dimensional. However, with his lengthy contract it might be too big of a risk to acquire yet another catch-and-shoot player with the hopes of changing him when we have so many players already like that, as it is.
well the damon jones comment had to do with the fact that damon's only real valuable nba skill right now is shooting 3's and he's useless when he's not knocking them down. q has become such a player.
