ooookkkk.. sure... so your saying, with an unstoppable yao ming, 3 point hot shots cuttino mobley, glen rice, and eric piatkowski, team captain and playing with his whole heart day in and day out steve francis, non-stop hustle defense of juaquin hawkins and adrian griffin, upcomin young star eddie griffin, new and disciplinarian head coach jeff van gundy which will lead to the old glory days, yeah.. we are the worst team in the league.. i even bet were goin to have a hard time beating denver..

Strange coz the one thing I remember about DD report of the summer league was that in every game Nachbar was bad on offense he was doing very good on D!
Can you confirme DD?(or anyone else as a matter of fact!)
I still have high hopes for Boki and I think we'll see more of him this year! ;)

I understand those of you who are optimistic and think we have a legit shot at a 6th seed or higher, but really, when someone who STUDIES basketball for a living, and speaks on a daily basis with those on the INSIDEs of teams in the league, it's a more than a litle disingenous for you to so quickly dismiss his usually astute opinion.

All of my posts in the past week or two have said similar things (albeit more harshly at times). This is NOT a team that's ready to do more than make to the dance. And even that, as Chad so aptly put it, is in some question. JVG KNOWS defense, but he don't know Jack about O and in the WC baby, Offense is where it's AT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I believe both Yao and Amare will improve, but Amare more than Yao. Why? Because he's working on his game, with NBA trainers, the person training him nkows his weaknesses, and he's also got more rest than Yao. I'm not saying Yao won't improve, because the situation this year is WAY better than last year, but, think about it, Yao will get here after a couple of preseason games. He's got his work cut out for him.

Amare averaged 13 and 8 as well, and we can easily expect that to jump to 17 and 10. For the 3rd option on a team, that's pretty damn good.

The Rockets played LIKE a 6th seed? How can we use that excuse? Just because they LOOKED good? Fact of the matter is, the Suns played 6th and possibly 5th seed basketball with Penny in the line up. They DID it, it wasn't a "they COULD do it", it's a "they DID it". I don't think Penny will hold up a whole season either, but if he does, then we definitely have a competitor for 6th seed.

Honestly, I don't think they're that much better NOW that we have Van Gundy. Fact that we beat them 3 times with Rudy just shows that the players have heart. Which is good, but its not everything.

I think Houston will end up with an identical record to Phoenix, but will hold the tie-breaker. I'm assuming that Penny doesn't play more than 70 games, and Marbury CAN'T have a better season than last.

The mighty royal baldness(jvg) will lead us to a high seed in the play offs LOL hahahhaha. Not to be pessimistic or anything, but the Suns and Amare are a better team. EG will be a key to us making the playoffs because I'm not going to put my money on motay to rebound and bump and open things up for yao in the paint.

The guy just doesn't know basketball... how can you have any credibility as an NBA analyst (I assume that's what he is) if you don't even know what position Mo Taylor plays??? He wrote another recent article putting Taylor at the starting 3 and implies the same thing in this article.

    I think I could be a sportswriter.....
