I got pulled over in Valley Ranch -Irving/dfw for not having my lights on at 5pm!!! amazing. Valley Ranch is where the "lovely cowboys of dallas" practice and for some reason its always teeming w/ cops looking to hand out tickets.
if there is another car around i usually use my blinker, but in the case i mentioned there was nobody near me and the cop who pulled me over was coming from the opposite direction. i am glad you are not a lawmaker though.
i got pulled over like a month ago for following too close to a COP! We both turned into a street coming from opposite direction, with him going 10 mph after the turn. So anyways, he decided to stop to let me pass by to pull me over, i mean, how do u not expect someone to be close to you after turning into a street and also going 20 mph under the speed limit. I know he was a cop and i respect cops, but im not going to fear any for no reason. By the way it got dismissed
yes you can. they need probable cause. they will yell at you and try to threaten you, but you have to stand your ground. they can call out a drug dog and have them check the car, but a good lawyer should be able to get you out of that if you get caught w/ anything (probable cause?) they might ask you to step out of your car and than pat you down, claiming they want to make sure you dont have a weapon. read the 4th amendment. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
