do you really not understand the word successful in the context he used it? i know you're a kraut and all, but seriously. take a break, you're losing your mind.
Success is a matter of perspective. I regard it as a success when terrorists are taken out. Others decide to take the perspective of the terrorist. Interesting.
interesting that you fail to understand that words have different meanings in different contexts. did a muslim steal your boyfriend or what?
Are you saying there are gay muslims? Watch out, Muslims might be offended by that statement! Can't have been an Iranian muslim...says Ahmadinedjad, at least... Ahmadinejad: No Gays, No Oppression of Women in Iran When asked about the death penalty Iran imposed on homosexuals, Ahmadinejad discussed the death sentence for drug smugglers. When pushed by moderator and acting dean of the School of International and Public Affairs John Coatsworth, the Iranian president said: "In Iran, we don't have homosexuals like in your country. In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who has told you we have that." http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=3642673
Keep dodging everything buddy. I'm still fascinated to hear your answers to the questions I asked, if you're interested.
I am in Lyon at the airport and have only had enough time and sobriety to drop a few snide remarks, but not for any deeper thoughts .
Have a good time, and if you see any public praying, remember....grab a burrito and nestle in close. DD
lol Have fun. I can only assume, you being German and being in Lyon, you were there for the game. Congrats on that. This Muslim says you're welcome:
I'm not downplaying anything. I don't think any relatives of terrorist attack victims would argue that those attacks weren't successful attacks That doesn't mean they aren't horrible senseless tragedies because they are. I think if you were to go to the victims families and ask them how unsuccessful those attacks were. They would, at best, think you were crazy. I'm not downplaying anything, I'm pointing out that most terrorists aren't Muslims, and most terrorist attacks in Europe and the U.S. don't come from Muslims.
Is that you in the middle? Hamit is a nice guy. He's rather quiet and shy. Franck is funny. It's a travesty that he got suspended for three matches and will miss the Champions League final.
Rather than starting a new thread, I decided to post this picture I stumbled upon today in the previous thread. Sums up my feelings on the issue.
Well, if I thought my penis was the secret to eternal life, I'd probably go around showing it to everyone, too.
I would add: "Stop using it as the end-all be-all excuse for atrocities" "And for the love of god stop trying to go around a blow everything up"
ATW- I'm interested what your opinion is on public displays of religion in general? I know Europe has handled the whole seperation of church and state concept very differently from the US (France bans religious symbols in government buildings, Italy says they're secular but still keeps crucifixes in public schools, Ireland still teaches mandatory catholicism in public schools). Do you see a difference between, say, some Tebowing or chanting and kneeling on a prayer mat? What about things like holiday decorations? What about people like nuns or Sikhs whose religion mandates they show their faith openly? I can't speak from personal experience, but I feel like Europeans- probably because of a long reign of theocracies- feels religion should be expressed and practiced only in private places- whereas the Americans are more open to public expression of religion.
While I do not think this thread is a joke and I can relate to what OP has been saying, I did not see this thread hitting more than 9 pages... I see this has been necro bumped after a while.
That was actually accidental, I quoted a post from this thread and accidentally posted the quote here.
I assume you are equally offended by people who "say grace" in public before meals. As far as I know, members of no religion "put their ass in the air" at or around restaurants. The Christians make a religious show of eating. Anyone else?
