I was nervous since I got mine off eBay as well, for around $100 less than MSRP too IIRC (also got Resistance for ~$30 IIRC, when it was retailing for $60). Everything turned out alright though. I think as long as you do your research on who is trustworthy (sounds like you did), things should turn out just fine. Certainly made me consider doing more deals on eBay.
Yeah, I was shocked that I got Resistance, Tony Hawk P8, and CoD3 for a grand total of $90 off eBay. Makes me wonder how these people can afford to sell games that cheap, but I'm not complaining.
Don't be scared of deals on PS3s, as long as the sellers have good feedback/protection. There are professional dealsmiths out there that can score PS3s for $200 any day of the week. I have a friend that does nothing but deals/ebay sales and I hear all sorts of stories from him. Turning PS3s over for around retail still nets these guys a hefty profit.
