Even though I don't have a PS3, my neighbor bought Echochrome for me on his because I thought it was way too awesome. The game is super neat, has cool music, can blow your mind...but it can give you a headache after a little bit staring at that bright, bright white.
could I ask you a favor RC? would you keep us posted in here about any issues that always seem to popup on updates? Im way short on time to troll the PS3 forums for news, and since I havent updated to 2.40 yet, I may do this one if it shows to be pretty painless.
Sure. I haven't really noticed any issues popping up with 2.41 so far, although I think in general, there usually aren't many issues (if any) with these updates from what I can recall. The one exception, at least in recent memory, being firmware 2.40 of course...although I guess even that is up for debate. There is the occasional report of someone having issues with their PS3 after updating, but those aren't always directly related to the updates themselves.
I wish the PS3 would allow you to play music during game play via ipod like the Xbox360. IMO, that's really the only thing I like more about the 360.
I'd rather them work on a few other things, although then again, I couldn't really care less about support for custom soundtracks (if I want to, I can easily listen to my own music while playing a game already). Of course, I'm not really sure they can do anymore than they've already done. Developers will have to patch it in or support it when their games are released. Unlike it was when the PS3 launched though, I don't think it takes up any additional resources (probably due to XMB being functional in-game w/o any additional resources).
in game xmb should be faster, in game xmb should load up the stuff that you can do during the game, instead of showing the regular options and then when you click on them "to perform this action, the game must be exited" or whatever it says.
