I dunno about the Pacific NW, but Colorado is the fittest state. And adverse weather can certainly have an adverse affect on one's mental health, so that may very well skew the results.
People in Seattle are fairly active. While we have some of the highest per capita rates of movie-watching, reading, and internet access, we are also a city of a tremendous outdoor activities. The city is compact enough to favor walking and using public transportation a lot of the time. There has also been a great deal done to accomodate bikers. This neglects to mention all of the hiking and other outdoor activities that are available. Fat people stand out here and occur in higher rates in the suburbs which aren't as friendly to pedestrians. It also doesn't rain here nearly as much as people think (as long as it's not winter). Often a week of straight rain will consists of some light drizzling in the middle of the night 7 days in a row. However, I'll agree with the levels of depression. Spring and summer are awesome here, but winter is long and grey and pretty miserable. I've only been here 5.5 years, but I got pretty down the first few winters after 2 months of grey, overcast weather. I've heard from a lot of people, that winter will get them down every five years or so. I'd be curious what time of year they did that study, because a winter-time study would definitely skew some of those results.
No *****...I bought the original one and love it, but my other one is 80GB and not BC, which really does suck when the kids want to play older games...
I don't know...doesn't really seem like that good of a deal considering you can now get a new slim with a higher capacity HD for only $60 more.
Haha, I don't actually have any real data about depression or fatness in Seattle. It just seemed to me with the constant rain and drizzle, that I would be bored and stay inside all the time.
Hmm... http://tech.yahoo.com/news/pcworld/20090820/tc_pcworld/sonysps3slimcarriesupdatedcellchip Maybe nothing, and possibly a misunderstanding (no quotes on exactly what the improvements were exactly). Also, refurbished PS3s that can play PS2 games for $330: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=64006 And finally...I forgot about this guy (probably NSFW due to language): <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bV1E_Rb9AsE&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bV1E_Rb9AsE&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Oh...you were talking about the PSP. I (and probably macalu too) thought you meant PS3. ~$100 for a PS3 would be pretty crazy...especially if it actually works.
I have a 60 GB launch PS3 how much do you think I can sell it for? I want the slim. It has no problems plus it's very clean.
Look on eBay. I would guess a lot since it has the emotion engine in it. I have a launch-boy too, I would never sell it. Sat in line for 24hrs for it. Good ole carefree college days.
