fair enough, but the PS3 isn't out yet so let's wait for that and see. can't really compare a 360 to a PS2
Blu-Ray > HD-DVD ^That alone convinced me to get a PS3 over a 360. I went to a GameStop the other day, and asked about pre-orders. They said that they were'nt allowed to take em yet, and they told me I should wait until after December because they have a long waiting list to pre-order a PS3. Can they do that?
Well Sony was in the game before them and it isn't like Sony is some mom & pop shop. lol. According to the 2006 Forbes 2000, Sony has has 50% more in sales, 30% more in assets, and 6 times the market capitalization of MS (back in March). Of course MS does more with what they have and have about 10-13 times the profits.
So yes, this is confirmed. $100 down, first come first served. And GS is making it clear that just because you get in on their 'initial' allocations, that doesn't actually mean you will get a system. What has me worried is that, according to the GS employees I know, there is no allocation for the actual units; meaning, the 2 SKUs have no solid numbers. They were guessing it might go by preorders, but that seems highly unlikely in that I don't think Sony will produce just to meet EB/Gamestop preorders. That tells me that the allocation they are expecting right now could shift quite a bit as launch gets closer. At most I would say no more than 10 for the strip mall stores, no more than 15-20 for mall stores. And that's without knowing the 2 SKU allocation. Get in early, if you want it, but if you get in anywhere past fourth or fifth in line you should probably realize nothing will be 'guaranteed'. Unfortunately no one knows that for sure.
I'm gonna say it now... I have a feeling that the Wii is going to sell more than the ps3 for the 4th quarter.
My local gamestop said that they are not taking any preorders. Can someone whose store is taking preorders please let me know where there is store is. If you don't want to reveal it to everyone, I'll take a PM or whatever. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Thats a fine opinion but MANY people feel NCAA 07 on the PS2 (and xbox for that matter) is better than NCAA 07 on the xbox 360. Graphics are one thing, "gameplay"....
That's more or less a given I would think, especially if you are talking worldwide sales. The expected shipment numbers pretty much guarantee that. Hope my sarcasm detector wasn't broken.
every system usually has strong points. you just have to look at the information and pick the one that is best for you. sitting here arguing over which one you think is best. especially when one isnt even out yet is not really the best use of time.

So I preordered a game for PS3 at EB Games, and was told I would get a phone call prior to the preorder date to let me know when the preorders are going to happen. They just left me a message at 9:15, 45 minutes before the store opens, and while they probably have a bunch of people sitting in line already. Funny I found out the day before from clutchfans, before I got that phone call. What a waste of 5 dollars.
Just got back from Gamestop in the Woodlands. I would have been like #13, but they told me I had to have gotten a call in order to place a pre-order...I should have lied and said I did..what a screw up.
I called the same store since it's right across the street from my work and they said that they were only getting 8 and that there was a line so I didn't even go up there. I also called the one at Kuykendahl and 2920 and they said the same thing.
Oomp I love you like a brother...sort of. I just called the baytown store, may take me like 3 years to drive over there, but they still have some left. *hauls ass*
