I'm basing this on NBA Live 03-07 and NBA2k3-7

Some of the same issues from 2k3 are still rearing their ugly head...so I'm going with NBA Hibachi 2008.

Anyone else? If you're getting Live, post your PSN :D

    If you're getting 2k8, you can add your PSN...but I won't care ;)

haha that reminds me of a friend who used to think touché meant "too bad" and when he would say it I would just stay quiet and think about what I said. I didn't figure it out until later when I said, "Ah I forgot my debit card so I can't get lunch and he said "touche man, touche" and i was like wtf.

I feel bad for those getting Live. It may be improved, but its not anywhere near 2K8.

I won't get it right away, but I'll be playing NBA 2K8. Not really much of a contest IMO. I'll probably rent NBA 08 at some point since I did enjoy the demos for 07 and 08 (more than the Live 08 demo anyway), and some of the gameplay features they have seem interesting.

2k8 is SO much harder to play now that the controls have been made more realistic.

edit: 2k8 got a ****TY rating. 7.9? cmon thats garbage
edit2: nba live got even worse. sucks to be a basketball sim fan this year

2k8 got a ****ty rating because it is a ****ty game. Realisitic controls and graphics don't always translate into fun gameplay. 2K8 is boring as hell and slow. If you want reality go play basketball at the park.

I wouldn't really worry about the rating the games got at IGN (or the rating any game gets from any reviewer). Judging by IGN's past reviews for NBA 2K (dating back to when it was $20 even), NBA Live, and even Sony's NBA games, it seems the IGN reviewers do not really care for the gameplay style of 2K (or they prefer something more arcadey anyway). If you feel that way too, then maybe they might mean something, but I'm guessing a lot of you don't. I know I didn't agree with a lot of their past reviews for Live vs 2K (that's why I still remember the name Hilary Goldstein :)).

Not saying that IGN didn't bring up some valid negatives about NBA 2K8 of course (though I haven't played it yet).

Losing access to the 2K series is making me regret my switch to the Wii....

Live is so popular. The demo is good.

2k8 feels better and looks better. The demo is great.

The bad thing is most of my friends play Live...so im in a dillema
