Gamestop just called me about this because I had it preordered. Oct 27th at the earliest is what they said.

Yeah, seems like Sony will be shipping the game to retailers the week of the 27th. I thought the November 14th date was legit, so that makes me feel a little bit better.

So Catholics get mad when an ancient church is the site of all types of wicked bloodshed in Resistance and Sony doesn't care much. No recalls are made.

Then 1 muslim gets upset that their are lyrics in one song out of who knows how many that have 2 lyrics taken from their holy book and Sony freaks the **** out.

You can't make this stuff up.

hey guys, sorry for bumping this, but I just thought i'd post a youtube clip of the "offensive" song.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5dM_e05ADio&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5dM_e05ADio&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

BTW, the "offensive" lyrics are early on in the song and are NOT even taken out of context or anything.

I am a muslim and I find it ridiculously stupid that while ppl put Quranic verses in poetry, they can't put it in a song thats not even satirical or anything...

Plus, its a really awesome song

I have a friend who bought a copy from a Blockbuster here in Houston on Tuesday. He said they were clueless about the delay.

Released at GameStop and EB Games yesterday!

I just went in to pick up my pre-ordered copy today. Boy is it sweet. I also got 2K9 and I have a mid-term tomorrow so I don't know what I'm gonna do. But it's definitely awesome to finally have it!

I ordered it off of Amazon with free shipping, so it might be a while before I get it. Probably a good idea since I've got a lot of things to do too (also have an exam tomorrow, group project due in a week, programming assignment, etc.). Not to mention I still want to finish Disgaea 3 (the optional final boss is tearing me apart). And then the NBA season is about to start, so... :(

Let me know what you guys think about it, particularly the single-player levels. I think there were only about 4 single-player (tutorial) levels in the Beta, but I thought they were really fun.

Alright so me and my roommate just blew through an hour of LBP before switching to 2K9, and boy, it is everything I expected and more. We spent 20 minutes goofing around moving our sackpersons' arms (dancing, we call it :)), pinning stickers and decorations on each other, and dragging each other back and forth. We didn't get very far in the game (Safari level right now), but boy is it awesome. We'll log some more playtime on it tonight, but I don't even know if I can wait that long.

As for the difficulty of the levels, they're not hard per say but you really need to analyze angles and explore every bit of the land to get 100% of the items. We did one of the first few levels quickly and what we thought was thoroughly, but we only found 27%. I can imagine it only being harder in future levels.

This game is just so much more fun to play with someone else. I'd shown my roommate videos of LBP before and he thought it was too kiddish for him to like, but after 10 minutes with the controller he's a believer. LBP is THAT good. I don't see why this won't sell consoles. I'm 19 and I find it cute as hell, imagine what girls and kids would think.

I prefer the single player experience for games typically, but playing this game with another person makes LBP go from "eh" in my mind to awesome. Like Trip said, this game was made for co-op obviously.

(It doesn't make me want to buy a PS3 or the game itself, but I'm glad a buddy of mine has it so I can play it every once and a while. (Kinda how I feel about the Wii...(which he also owns (useful friend!))))

Played about an hour or so in single player mode...not really impressed, to be honest. I dont know, just doesnt bring any excitement to the table, thus far. Gotta play more.

Been playing it the last two days and I'm really liking it. As you get further on, some of the levels can get pretty tough. The bad thing is that you have to start from the beginning if you die more than three times at a check point.

That sounds generous and it is, but there are some spots where it gets you.

I think I'm going to have to go back and replay everything to get 100%. Right now I'm averaging about 60% for the first times beating a level.

I can't wait to start building the levels, but I need to finish the single player first.

Also, for those that have it, have you been able to get online with it yet?

My copy should finally get here next week I think (cheap shipping is slow :(). Guess it may have been a good thing since it sounds like the servers were having problems most of the week, so maybe I'll avoid most/all of that mess.

BTW, the latest 1UP Show had a segment on LBP, as well Fallout 3 and Resistance 2.

Gotten through most of the (story?) SP levels, which have been awesome IMO (great music too). But now, I've reached the Wheel of Doom (or whatever you want to call it) on The Bunker level. The only really difficult thing I've faced in the game so far, which sucks since it is a pretty good ways into the level so you have to often restart from the beginning to get past it (rarely faced this problem in earlier levels). Maybe I'll try it one more time.

Been a blast up to this point though. The Media Molecule guys have some great level designers.

edit: And now I got past it...that's a relief.

Sorry for posting yet again tonight, but after finally finishing up the story levels (or at least the "mandatory" ones), I played a few more user levels and found this one:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wg0ZBHdz7wM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wg0ZBHdz7wM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I think it is the same person who did the Tetris level.

Also enjoyed this Ico music level (partly because of the work he/she did for the Princess):
    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Si0D46vy5gQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Si0D46vy5gQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    Nice tribute to Megaman:
    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/psqIkCZzsqw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/psqIkCZzsqw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Haven't really found many other nice levels though, other than the ones from the beta. Not sure if the servers/online portion of the game is still borked or what, but they only seem to be listing one page during searches (at least for me). There are a lot of levels to help you get trophies though.

I've been a bit out of it when it comes to the user-levels lately, so I haven't kept up with this, but...

Apparently Sony is doing all they can to make LBP a huge failure. Seems like many of the great levels are getting "moderated," for seemingly no apparent reason. Don't really have a solid list, but I wouldn't doubt it if half or more of the levels I listed here are gone. Some of the levels were even featured on the Media Molecule blog as well, which makes things even more confusing. As a player, I certainly don't enjoy this, but I really feel bad for the creators of these levels. Saw a few at NeoGAF, and it seems like they pretty much don't want to touch the game until this gets straightened out. Some may not even bother after that actually...initial impressions and all that.

    So yeah...good job Sony.

Here are some examples of levels that got taken down recently:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YBxahZljFMs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YBxahZljFMs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sdRYTaZRsk4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sdRYTaZRsk4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I guess I should say that these possibly haven't been removed, but only under consideration for removal (someone complained, so MM/Sony is looking into it). Although either way, there are some serious problems with the moderation process in this game. I could somewhat understand the God of War level being removed (too violent? plus legal issues?), and somewhat understand levels like the Tetris one (legal issues?), but these seem perfectly OK to me and should be exactly what MM was wanting.

Forgot to post this earlier, but NeoGAF has a thread for posting interesting user levels. Here it is:
    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=341622
Hopefully most of those levels are still in the game.
