Didn't know the answer to this earlier, but... I read this from one of the users at NeoGAF: Guess it could still have issues, but I'm assuming it will be a lot better. We need some GIFs. I'm too lazy to do it at the moment, but maybe I'll get some later. So beautiful.
On a related note, Logitech has the G27 wheels for $195, no tax for Texas residents. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/wheels/devices/5184 Coupon code: gdby2009 Just ordered mine
The Logitech G27 page wasn't very clear about it, but it did list the the PS3 games it supports on the bottom right of the page, with a link. Per Wiki:
Plus the logitech wheels have 900 degree turning, meaning it takes 2.5 full turns to go from end to end. Makes it a lot better to control when driving. Only a few games (outside of the gt series) support it though.

If I didn't have an XBox with Forza and wasn't waiting for Forza 4 with Kinect, I'd buy a PS3 just to play this game. I enjoyed 3 and 4 on my previous PS2. Still, any game that has been delayed as many times as this thing has probably has run into issues along the way (haven't people been waiting 5-6 years for this thing?). I'd wait for some reviews to come in before plopping $60 or whatever on it.
To be fair, GT5 hasn't really been delayed that much. Officially (at least for NA), think it was only delayed 1-2 times. It just has a LONG development. And also in its defense, it has WAY more than any other game like it (how many games have 1000+ cars?). I was starting to criticize Polyphony for taking so long, but then they started announcing features. They probably could have done things better, but it is hard to criticize the team when you see what they've come up with. edit: Actually, I think this ~20 day delay is the only delay for the NA version if I'm not mistaken.
^^I don't see a GT game having any serious issues...Kazunori Yamauchi would not allow it. We're not talking about EA Sports here.
Don't confuse Poly Digital with the mess that is Square Enix. What do you expect out of Kinect with Forza 4? The only thing I can think of is head tracking, which GT5 is already doing with the PSeye. If you want the definite racing experience, GT5.
I think I may be combining things like Gran Turismo HD and its cancellation with a series of delays or missed releases in the line. GT 5 was supposed to be released at least in Japan back in March, then again at the beginning of November worldwide, and now at the end of November. The 1000 cars is good, but doesn't wow me simply becase I doubt I'd play most of them. It's like iPhone apps. Having a ton is great, but all I care about is are the ones I'd like to play there. That would probably boil down to about 10-20 cars at the most, and of those, I'd probably find about 5 or less that I'd play the majority of the time. I'm going to see how things go. This game may push me into getting a PS3 for the holidays.
Yeah, I think most people did the same regarding GT5's delays. Seems like there were more, but officially, just 1 for NA (or 2 if you count Japan). And yeah, I doubt I'd play many of the 1000 cars either. My point was more along explaining why it took so long to come out. Wasn't due to issues with development IMO (though maybe there were some). It took that long because Polyphony went crazy in creating content for the game. Quoting the list from NeoGAF (and I'm not even sure if PD has unveiled everything?): Whether any of that interests you is another thing, but pretty clear what PD has been up to the last 4-5 years or so (not counting their work with GTHD, GT5P, and GT PSP).
The track editor is a pretty cool idea and probably intrigues me the most simply for the infinite replayability element it may provide. I doubt it'll be a full blown editor, but if it even lets you modify tracks to any good degree, it'll be a great addition. The addition of Kart racing could be kind of fun, too, I guess. The rest I'll have to see. The photosharing, youtube video upload, soundtracks, psp, etc. stuff, I really don't care about. The majority of that stuff is "ok, whatever" to me, but it should still be a good game. ' The GT series is why I bought my first console and the only reason I probably have an XBox is because of the Forza series. GT 5 may be the only reason I get a PS3, as well - it's a good looking game.
