So........ Spoiler The fight with Hercules was pretty cool. Took me a while, but pretty cool. I have to say that I actually use the other weapons more than I did the other games. Its a pretty smooth transition. I also like how the item bar refills.
So umm, I just beat the 2nd boss... Spoiler I just uhh... killed the god of the underworld... Hades. Yea, kind of speechless after the spectacle that goes on in that fight. Ripping out Hades' freakin skin piece by piece?!?! WTF! The atmosphere was mind-blowing! I don't think I've ever felt that intense in a boss fight ever... To top it off, you carve a freakin hole in his stomach and swim through it in the Styx! The designers of this game have some sick ideas, and I love it! The whole Hades' underworld looked gorgeous. The scene with Hephaestus and the fire all around was just jaw-dropping. The game is like one-upping itself as it moves forward. It's like the developers are saying "Ha, you thought the last part was bad ass, wait until you see this." To top it off, the soundtrack is amazing. That damn chant of the hopeful soul in the underworld is stuck in my head. I must get this soundtrack when it's released on March 30th. Can't wait to see what's next, but there is only so much "bad-ass" I can handle for one night. I will continue tomorrow. Anyone with a PS3 and does not want to get God of War 3, well sell your PS3 because you're doing it wrong!
Just started playing this for an hour yesterday! THe game is badasss for real! Woooo. First fight was awesome!
Just started tonight and a few hours into it. All I can say is WOW!! The only reason I can think it isnt getting perfect scores is because most of it has been done before but it has NEVER looked or felt this cool. There is just so much detail to the background and maybe best graphics I have ever seen.
I'm really enjoying this game. I think I'm about 80% through the game. I'm playing on Titan mode and getting my ass handed to me by a boss. Spoiler That freaking Scropion. I keep almost taking out his last leg then he hits me with a few tail swipes or I get gang tackled by a group of scorpions. I'm up to about 25 deaths and at least a few hours on this boss. I'll get there, but definitely the hardest fight of the game so far.
Beat the game last night/this morning. Thought the story could have been better (or done more perhaps), and started to hate the Icarus vent parts of the game (I didn't like it in the demo, but I hoped that was it). But everything else was amazing. Still loving the gameplay. The weapons seemed a lot better in this one. As mentioned numerous time, the graphics are possibly some of the best in any (console) game, especially when you consider the scale of everything (framerate seemed to be decent too, although I'm not too picky). And nothing like a God of War boss fight, especially the ways Kratos ends up ending them. Those guys are really creative...in a sick kind of way.
You can definitely enjoy this one on its own, but I'd really recommend picking up the collection. You'll have a better appreciation for the story and they're fun as hell to play too. Even now. Thats what she said?
This fight is actually very easy: Spoiler Just grab the small scorpions with "O" to get green life orbs and red orbs whenever you take a hit. If you time it right, you can grab a small scorpion right before he hits you with his tail slam and it will negate all damage. I guess you could call it a glitch. Also, with the lion fists equipped get to a spot you can hit two or three legs at a time and use "L1 + Square" to do the spin move. Good luck!
Finally beat that boss last night. Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back at it with a calmer approach. After dying 20+ times the night before, I took the b*stard down on the second attempt. Spoiler I actually did all of those things. It just really could kill me quickly on the second phase. I'm playing on Titan mode, so it was a bit unforgiving. The other thing I did was get all the legs to red before taking 3 out. That made the second phase go a lot quicker. Even more key, I also replayed the caverns and changed the way I upgraded. I had maxed out the Claws of Hades so I could get the Souled Out trophy. With that out of the way, I replayed this section with maxed out Neaman Cestus, which allowed me to throw down on the Scorpion with a lot more power. I don't think I'll be playing this game on Chaos mode. I took down GoW1 on God mode and Gow2 on Titan mode, but those were long, cruel slogs. I don't know if I'm up for that much punishment, not to mention my greatly diminished free time.
I hear you man. Titan mode is a challenge. I don't know how many times I die to someone numerous times only to beat them pretty easy after a break. I just beat the boss you were talking about. It was a pretty good one. I have to say the Nimean Cestus may be my number two weapon.
