Yeah, the paper specs work, but I found trying to stream DVDs to be troubling and unreliable. All I'm saying is that it might take more work than it looks.

On a related note, the latest PSP firmware just went up. This is the one that allows for Remote Play via a wireless internet connection. It seems as though media streaming to the PSP works with this method as well. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise since it was working locally prior to this update, but still nice to know (and far more practical). Of course, there are other things you can do with this besides streaming content to your PSP.

I knew there was a reason why I never bought a new memory stick for my PSP. :)

 well im 3 seconds from shooting my PC....first off, never call linksys helpdesk, they are no help at all....second off...why can I get every server to start except TVersity...its frustrating...it starts and then it stops, I did the patch, rebooted....mediaserver -debug....and still starts and stops. Turned firewalls off....gave it full permissions thru...admin tools, services....and windows giving a message...this program started...but stopped due to no operation to do...please look at logs and something....

4 hours....4 freakin hours...and still cant get the ps3 to find a mediaserver...be it nero or wm11....and I have an itching feeling that if I get TVersity server up, it just might work...then again....my damn Linksys only shows one thing hooked up when you goto DCHP table and thats my main PC. Wonder if I should try to setup a mediaserver on my Laptop, it has Vista....maybe that will work

i was just at the microsoft webpage, and i was looking under Which routers are compatible with media sharing?
    A. Several routers have been found to work well with media sharing. These are routers that allow Windows Media Player to recognize digital media devices and successfully share and stream content to them. Most of these routers are also compatible with Xbox Live. Among the routers found to be compatible are:

    • Belkin FSD8230 V1002

    • Dlink DI624 FW4.0 D1

    • Dlink DI634 FW2.0 B1

    • Linksys WRT55AG V2

    • Linksys WRT54GS V5.0

    • Linksys WRT54GR

    • Microsoft MN700

    • Zyxel X-550

now I have the linksys wireless router WRT54G v2...I am wondering if that maybe my problem and maybe I need to upgrade my router...what do you all think?

You've tried all this stuff, right?

Not sure how much that would help, especially if you've already read this and tried it. Just thought I'd add it anyway since these seem like common problems that were solved with these solutions. I wish I knew more about this kind of stuff so I could offer better help. All I can do is post help to common problems that I've seen on other boards.

 another question, I finally getting my pc to show up on the playstation under media sharing...but not always...sometimes its there when im just reading forums trying to figure out how to get it working, and sometimes its not..but when it is there..nothing is in the folders under the computer name...says no files found. now I wonder since I uninstalled nero and tversity...and im going with ORB for the moment, if ORB is working and thats why the ps3 is seeing my Computer. really wish I could use WM11...but that still doesnt recognize the ps3.

you would think it would be so much easier wired. guessed not. :D

Ever since I installed this firmware update my ps3 controller has been going all wacky on me. When I try to play a dvd all of the controller functions except for the Playstation button stop working. I can only scroll between turn "turn off controller" and "turn off Ps3", I cannot select either because the other buttons do not work.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do any of you know how to fix it?

Does it work fine if you have it connected with a USB cable? If that works fine, that might be the best way to "fix" it unfortunately. You can also try "disconnecting" the controller from the PS3 and then trying to sync it up with the PS3 again like you did when you first set it up.

It seems as though people have various issues at random times with the controller, partly due to the Bluetooth interface (can be interference from other devices) and partly due to something Sony seemingly did wrong with the controller I guess. Some people noted that previous firmware updates fixed their problems, while others have noted that they made it worse (kind of like your situation I guess).
