Haven't finished it yet, but I was really liking what I was playing of ff13, but haven't had much time for it lately. I got to chapter 10, and I was really enjoying the battle system. The sentinel job really kind of bugs me though. Just seems too necessary to use sometimes yet it really slows down and makes the battles less fun, imo.
Nah you never really need to use the sentinel job often in this game. Sprint shoes + Auroa scarf = quick fights often.
15 months later (90 hours of gameplay) later, I finally beat it. Disappointed by how easy the final chapters were. The A level Cieth Stone Missions were so much harder. Will not be replaying this one.
I'm in the same boat as you. If it weren't called Final Fantasy and I hadn't been 10 once, I would never have picked it up in the first place. Even if you say you like RPGs, the genre barely resembles the one that made us like them in the first place. Having faster CPUs hasn't done much for the gameplay. I think Square devoted too much time to the 20 minute barely interactive battle cutscenes and not enough to the storytelling and gameplay. Maybe I'm just not Japanese though. Japanese people love them some weird stuff.
