No I'm not joking at all. The 2 control sticks are much more effective and intuitive than a mouse and 4 letters on a keyboard. As for sensitivity, you can increase sensitivity to make it work for you. You probably played Halo on the default sensitivity which is frustrating I will admit. Give it another shot on max sensitive, you might be surprised. "Real CS players know what's up." Right. Halo PC - 50 bucks Comcast Cable internet - 40 bucks a month Watching "l33t" CS players trying to use the assualt rifle in the middle of Blood Gulch - priceless
Mouse/Keyboard no doubt allows for more accurate control, however I prefer the controller purely for ergonomic reasons. I'd rather push a stick, that's the way I grew up playing games in arcades, not type on a typewriter. Also, mouse/keyboard is almost too accurate as to undermine realism. I'm pretty sure that in real life, you can't run forward, stop on a dime , do a complete 180, and then land a perfect head shot from 300 yards out, all in the span of a few seconds.
Well, I think things like the cutscenes in Final Fantasy X and X-2 show what the PS2 is CAPABLE of, at least for short periods of time. I'm hoping someone can make use of it's processing power, because IMO it already has a tremendous catalog of games even if they don't look as good as XBox (Manhunt, for example which I just started). As for the XBox, I'm still waiting for that one kickass RPG to come out. Here's hoping Fable lives up to it's early looks, even though it won't be out until like April.
I love my Xbox. I love my PS2. They are both great for different reason. I do prefer games on the Xbox though. For what it is worth, Halo 2 was just pushed back to June.
Hell, if I wanted realism, I could go out, buy a cheap gun, run moderately fast, stop on a Paul Bunyan sized pancake, turn quickly developing a crick in my neck, and shoot some poor woman's dog who isn't within 15 meters of my target. But where's the fun in that? Video games aren't about realism...and being able to do exactly what you stated in the above post is what is so cool to me...to allow for that kind of pinpoint control makes for some freaking awesome battles.
PC controls are far superior, but if you've only known shooters through what's been pushed on a console (ugh), it wouldn't feel right to you. And the developers thing is a problem across the board. Look at what the top notch stuff does for each system, for example: Metroid on Gamecube FF or shots of GT4 on PS2 Halo on XBOX All great looking in their own right. It's the multi-platform stuff that suffers. But it's a product of the market. Few are going to put the huge amount of time and effort, or have the resources, to maximize the same game on each console. Hell, some don't even bother putting it on all three. Funny, though, about how hard it is to develop for the PS2. They used to accuse Nintendo of that same sort of thing, but it looks like Sony is just as (if not more) guilty of it. But the userbase talks...
I played Half-Life, and I have played numerous shooters including CS, Unreal, etc. and they all pale in comparison to the glory of Halo.
Online FPS are so boring, especially if you're onlly a casual player...sign on, walk around, get sniped from long distance by some loser 14 year old German kid who does nothing but play CS and whack off all day long, repeat...no thanks.
You got your ass kicked, didn't you? And as I love to point out....Halo is a PC shooter. That's why it's so good. You're talking about XBOX Live, aren't you? CS had some staggering numbers playing at any given time. There's a reason for that. But those things your talking about...snipers, teens talking sh*t, etc....that's every online game ever made. It doesn't change the quality of the games themselves.
im an old school keyboard/mouse guy have been using that combo since DOOM and ROTT days I take 2nd place to no one in battlefield1942 with this combo P.S. FPS on consoles are just lame
Gran Turismo 4; Have you never played GT3 A-Spec? GT4 with screenshots... IGN link to more articles...
Can't wait to get my hands on this baby, put some rimz on it... This game has to 'max out' the PS2 it is the flagship title after all.
What a crock of CRAP !!! It is not the processor that is the problem in the PS2, it is the 32megs of ram that is the issue. And of that 32 megs you only get access to about 24 megs. The PS 2 SUCKS for memory management, and it makes you use crappy textures as oppossed to the X-box and GameCube which have about 64megs of ram each..... The PS2 is dying....let it die...and GIVE ME MORE MEMORY DANG IT !! DD
