Feel bad for him. Props to the Blazers for beating Dallas after he got hurt and the Spurs tonight without Brandon Roy. They are even more beaten up than us right now.
Yep. Big games from LA, Bayless (31 points), and Juwan Howard (12pts/12rbs). Spurs look confused. There's a lot of talk from Spurs fans about getting rid of Parker and his inability to be a pass-first guard. Did anyone else see this coming? The addition of Jefferson just didn't seem to fit with the Spurs in my mind.
I was one of the few on this board that thought RJ would not fit in well because he's not THAT great of a player to begin with. The media and everyone else were ready to hand over the Western Conference to the Spurs before the season started saying Jefferson was their missing piece. The thing they forget is that, in order for RJ to be an effective player, he needs to: 1. Have a point guard (not even a great one) that can get him the ball for open shots or 2. Have the ball in his hands so he can try and do something with it. Parker was/is/will always be a scorer and the Spurs should have known this by now, if not a few years back. Unfortunately, they don't have other players on that team that will have that passing-first mentality and that's, IMO, what they lack--a facilitator.
I have to believe the Spurs will put it together sometime after the All-Star break. RJ will figure it out. I know it's been 26 games but there is still a lot of season left.
that is premature eJOCKulation on your part. fact is most media members have the Lakers as the favorite to repeat; it runs counter to your convenient false claim. by the all-star game, the Spurs / RJ will collective figure it out. the fact that Parker was the PG to the last 3 rings for the Spurs speak volume of his value to the team
