They mad at little John and friar tuck But no looting or burning of the Sherwood Forest @rocketsjudoka
Not sure why I'm tagged but I'll admit I haven't been following the situation with Game Stop that closely and hadn't even heard of Robinhood trading until this week. I know Schwab, who I have an account with, also limited purchases of Game Stop stock too. This is one situation I don't really have a firm opinion on. I have a hard time believing Robinhood and other trading apps are just stopping trading to protect hedge funds. They make money off of trades so they should be encouraging trades. At the same time extreme market volatility isn't good. I also have a strong feeling that many small time investors are going to get hurt. Not just from Robinhood preventing them from buying but from the inevitable drop in Game Stop's values. While yes large traders were shorting it but there are several good reasons to expect Game Stop to drop and this is rush is very much a bubble that is being inflated not from any market fundamental.
I did read some articles mentioning elements of the alt-right involved with the wallstreetbets subreddit so there's that...which is bullshit.
There is shorting and then there is shorting 140% of shares of a company. That hedge fund had everything coming to them. Actions have consequences. I get it. Short selling is a "necessary evil" as it can call bluffs of companies that are overselling their success and future. It's how we found out Enron was full of bs.
It is the ultimate form of praise you can achieve on the BBS. I hope one day I can be honored with the tinman tag bump.
The day traders United against the evil hedge fund shorters and won until Robinhood betrayed them and shot them with arrows
people are panicking for real my latest email from Schwab I also want to acknowledge that this week’s heightened trading volume and volatility across our entire industry have led to significant call volumes and hold times as well as challenges with online functionality at market open for some clients. Nothing is more important to us than serving you reliably, and we know recently that has not always been the case for every client. We appreciate that service disruptions are frustrating, and want you to know that we take these issues very seriously and sincerely apologize for any problems they may have caused. Let me assure you we are doing everything possible to make sure our professionals and our systems keep pace with the historic conditions we are experiencing. We are making additional investments in both of these areas that we believe will help better serve you going forward.
People should not be buying GameStop as it will crash. Inflating it's price doesn't change the fact its a failing company
