99 Acura Cl Pros Very fun to drive Powerful 3.0L engine Sporty and classy Very reliable Cons In the city it does not do me well in terms of gas Lost its luster
2003 VW Jetta 1.8 Turbo Pros: Loaded w/Sunroof, CD Player + Monsoon sound system, power windows, leather seats, etc. 180 horsepower really can get the car going quicker than most other cars of its type and price range. Lots of room compared to other cars I've driven. Gets decent gas mileage (esp. compared to the 2002 V8 Mountaineer I drove) Cons: 4 doors Jetta is perceieved by some as a "girl" car Is quick/fast for a car of its class, but doesn't have the power of a real sports car.
Cohen++! That's one heckuva car you got there, mate. 2004 Silver Nissan Altima 2.5S Pros: - Great styling - Very peppy, great acceleration for a 4-cyl - Sporty, curve-hugging handling - 16" wheels standard - Spacious and comfortable interior, nice trunk - Very reliable - Decent fuel economy (sub 30mpg, but great for its performance) Cons: - Torque steer - FWD - Ride could be a tad quieter - Cheap plastics on the interior
1996 Chevy Blazer (I'm serious) Pros: -It's paid for -Fits all my drums -AC works -It's paid for -Only has 97,000 miles Cons: -Passenger seat is a bit moldy because of a spilled protien shake about 6 months ago. -Rear hatch release is broken -Check engine light is perpetually on
1994 Lexus ES300 Pros: Reliable engine Great acceleration Paid for Smooth handling Relatively no hassles Cons: Beginning to show its age... driver side power windows stop working from time to time MPG gradually decreasing over time
2005 Ferrari Enzo PROS- It's a Ferrari I can use it to escape from my mafia "buddies" who are trying to kill me The chicks love it It's RED It's fast It handles like a racecar CONS- It's fast I can use it to escape from my mafia "buddies" who are trying to kill me It handles like a racecar
04 Toyota 4Runner V6 4WD Pros: -toyota -4WD handles snowy mountains very well -ability to take it OUT of 4WD (as opposed to the V8 version which cannot) -powerful, fast, handles exceptionally well for an SUV -lots of interior space (esp. cargo area) Cons: -i suppose fuel efficiency isn't ideal (18-21 mpg) -there's something wrong with the sunroof (?) really, i'm very pleased with my vehicle. i'll be owning toyotas forever.
Pros- No monthly payments No maintenance No insurance No parking issues No speeding tickets Cons- I don't have a car.
2003 Audi A4 1.8T Pros: cost effective luxury car ($27.8K loaded) exterior design very nice interior great highway performance Cons: noisy stock Pirelli tires poor acceleration from standstill wheel alignment/balance easily shifts
2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 PROS: Toyota quality Only SUV with sliding rear window - a big plus! Interior space Handling CONS: Stock stereo sucks Console kinda small Rides like a truck Only problems: Antenna stopped working Windshield wipers sometimes stick Honestly this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I am sold on Toyota's quality and durability. Seriously in 3 years I have put 75,000 + miles on this SUV and it still starts up like the day I bought it with 9,100 miles. The only thing I do is change the oil!!
2003 Corolla Pros: gas efficient Cons: no cruise control, when most other cars of its class had it at the time. Are you listening to comedy or reading the funnies while driving it? Explain that, please...
2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Pros: It's a truck -- very useful Drives great Comfortable ride Easy to clean the inside (no carpet -- just hose it out) Looks great, IMO Cons: Poor Gas Mileage Difficult to keep organized with no trunk tough to parallel-park (a huge issue up here in Pittsburgh) Pretty below-average sound system I'm planning on probably getting a truck box soon, and add a towing attachment. I will need to change the tires in the near future, and the shocks are making noise. The Pittsburgh roads have really done a number on my tires -- I will never complain about the quality of roads in Houston again.
2002 Nissan Maxima GLE Pros Heated Seats and Steering wheel HID's Fast for a 4 door sedan under 30K (I only paid 16K with 23K miles) Nice styling Nice factory rims BIG TRUNK Lots of rear legroom Love how the seat scoots back when you get in Has a decent trip computer that most non luxury cars did not have in 2002 Does not have cheap interior One touch sunroof Cons Bose Stereo sucks, sub rattles No dual climate controls squeaks and rattles no auto tilting mirror when I parallel park (our TL has spoiled us) Requires 93 octane fuel "You got a nice Daddy Car" comments.
Was that brand new? If it was, then you got an awesome deal!! I'm looking at cars now and I don't think I could pull a loaded A4 at $28k.
2005 Chevrolet Ext Cab Pros: Its useful, its a truck can jump curbs, go offroad, go thru high water can tow a boat/trailer Cons: Its american made (it rattles, its cheap) not fun to drive sucks in traffic guzzles gas hard to park its a chevy
I have a soccer mom car. 2000 Lexus Rx300. Squeaky brakes. Bad sound system. Wife drives the MINI cooper S, damn it. I think the tan leather interior is an ugly color. Maintenance is expensive. Plus - dvd system with 2 screens. Pretty good ride. Reasonably roomy. Paid for. Hauls my gear dry. My company covers maintenance expenses. . Need to find way to upgrade that sound system. Apparently, it's really hard to get a Lexus adapter to install a third-party cd/mp3/dvd player into the "aux" on the factory radio meant for a cd changer. Maybe Mobile One or someone like that can do it - my garage guy couldn't find one online. Need to get some bass without losing much cargo room, too. Hmm...I think I want to take the glove box out and put in another dvd screen there, too. Need a display for the aux player up front and maybe an ipod controller.
1998 Mustang GT Pros: - Paid for - Low maintenence - Good performance - No expensive parts - Runs well - Has decent interior with leather, CD sound, good air conditioner, ect. - Potential car payment money goes into savings (cha-ching!) Cons: - Starting to show wear - still driving car I had in high school despite the fact that I'm professional now - its Black with black leather. Looks great when clean, looks horrible when dirty, plus it gets super hot during the summer in parking lots. - small, can't fit very many people in it, and when my golf clubs are in the trunk (always) I don't usually have room for anything much else. I could afford to buy a really nice car, but I can't make myself go spend the money. I LOVE watching my savings grow a ton each month by not having car payments and more expensive insurance on new cars. My wife and I both have great professional jobs, and we both have slightly older completely paid for cars. We love it. We tend to put a little extra money into our house anyways since its not a depreciating asset. Money you put into your cars goes away, money you put into your house doesn't (usually).
I did buy it brand new. Advantage Audi was willing to negotiate and offered 2.9% over 4 years since the economy was in the toilet, and they had a sh*tload of excess inventory. I think the new bodystyle is priced a little higher by a couple thousand.
You made a killing at 2.9% and $28k I've spent the entire day at work today searching for cars and the best deal I found (a pretty good deal IMO) was a 2005 Acura TL for just under $24k. The car has 25,000 miles, which is a lot for a 2005. I shot them an e-mail and am waiting to hear back.
