I did like the three fouls he drew from the Lakers right in a row there in the first half... and the willingness to do it. He earned 'em all.

and the willingness to do it. That is what makes Boki 'the hope' -- he gives all he's got. He clearly either needs real game experience or a better game (I hope the former, but really am uncertain).

I'll bet in practice he's a lights out shooter. Some guys cannot do it in games ("Hell the slower people in the group can even talk about ex-Rocket Tracy Murray").

I love that Boki gave Malone a taste of his own flop medicine :).

Boki played great last night in his limited minutes. He hit that 3, and drew 3 Laker fouls quickly. Boki hustles and has good b-ball IQ. Hopefully he stay here and gets meaningful PT next season.

Did anybody listen to the JVG audio attached to the Chron story: Lakers slowed down; series lead cut to 2-1 by Jonathon Feigen?
JVG said Boki didn't play well in the summer leagues but has put in "countless hours of hard work" and now deserves playing time. It's worth a listen.

That's not entirely accurate. The primary player getting past Nachbar on the dribble was Kobe. And he gets past almost everyone with a great degree of regularity. The other players beating Nachbar off of the dribble (Payton, Fisher) were mismatches in transition or in the defensive rotation. Nachbar was primarily matched with Fox and Devean George. He did a good job on both.

Van Gundy's defense is designed to soft trap every dribble and funnel the ball baseline. If someone was getting past Nachbar and to the basket too easily, there was likely a breakdown in rotations.

This is not for you in particular
    but
It irks me. . .that we will and happy to let Euros, etc
GROW UP IN THE LEAGUE but have a REAL issue with the
american kids that come straight from high school etc

If one of our American Kids sat on the bench for 2~3 years
all folx would scream is. . . HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN SCHOOL
    but
when a Euro does. . . 4~5 yrs they finally start playing well
    we kewl with it . . . ..

Just a minor pet peeve of mine

    Rocket River
as for BOKI . . . . Rudy KNOWS TALENT!

Whoever it was on this message board three weeks ago that said Boki is Van Gundy's secret playoff weapon, props to you. Very impressive effort as a role player.

HOW ABOUT THE AWESOME "TAKE THIS ATTITUDE" TOWARDS KARLA MALONE BY BOKI....

I knew he would be a great pick, and now its showing. Any player that has the balls to go after Malone, and still be classy about it has got my heart...

That was NOT even a foul it was a clean block on Malone.

Boki should have played in the 2nd half.

Exactly, and if they hadn't called a foul, there would have been a few T's given out that we could have used.

O well, hes been in the L for 14 years, he gets his calls.

Boki played great with alot of energy. He sure got into Malone's head! Dunked on his butt, then did a clean block on the other end that was called foul. Hopefully we see more of him next year.

Looking forward to seeing Boki become a regular rotation player next season.
