This is how it's going to go. Everyone is going to be all jacked up to play. Kinda like Brian Cushing from USC. Five plays in, someone gets tackled, and then EVERYONE decides they want to play touch.
This is the way i see it , i used to play tackle couple of yrs back with my friends n "strangers" . Some people play at a certain level , some people take tackling to a "NFL ish" level . Im about 5'10 ish , 150 ... can run pretty fast , but of course when i got tackled i def used to feel the pain . SEVERE INJURIES CAN CAUSE DAMPER ON THE GAME W/O DOUBT !!!
One thing i always remind myself ...why injure myself heavily when i am not getting paid millions of $ and wearing pads ?
Why tackle football? I think tackle football is unfair. you have a good RB on your team, and you are pretty much set. Tackling is harder than you think unless you're aiming to drill the guy.
I knew a guy at my dorm who played football in High school , dude gained a lot of weight after getting to college . The guy was impossible to tackle , we had to mandate him being an all-time QB to protect ourselves and his legs also. The guy had a cannon of an arm though ....
Me and my friends always play tackle.....not John Lynch type hits....but enough to get the guy down. I guess it's because of watching this on saturdays.... We usually play at my old elementary school field. Here's a pic of the field. Some epic games have happened there.
Not gonna play anyways, but touch is no fun. The ballcarrier has absolutely no chance to break a tackle. I say you play with flags and IM rules, unless you want to let the linemen use hands. I predict that there's going to be an absolute beast of an athlete that scores every time he touches the ball and makes it no fun for the fat/old/nonathletic people.
