I don't have a problem with people signing their name or initials at the end of their posts...heck, I used to do that myself a long time ago on another board. This on the other hand... ....I do not like at all. To me, people who do that are lazy. And I wholeheartedly agree with Space Ghost about people who take online life too seriously. Certain trolls don't bother me too much as long as they don't "overdo it"; they're good for a laugh. I don't mind long posts, as long as they minimize redundancy (i.e. you don't repeat yourself too much or spend 500 words saying the same thing 5 different ways unless you're doing it deliberately to make some kind of point). Redundant posts get boring very quickly and can be restated in fewer words, often with better reception from readers. State your argument/stance/position, support it with evidence or examples, and get to the point. If a long post is required to accomplish this, so be it. Long and/or obnoxious signatures can get on my nerves too. Finally, although this isn't applicable to this BBS, avatars that are too large in terms of memory (say 100 KB or more) annoy me quickly since they bog down my computer while I'm scrolling past them. And huge images in signatures are extremely annoying, especially when said poster has a bunch of replies in one thread, with the signature present in each and every reply.
I don't like it when someone answers a post entirely in bold caps! Uhh, on second thought, I think using bold caps for everything is just sooooooo damned cool.....
I don't like it when people post new threads after a thread about the same thing has started a few days or hours upon hours later. But I hate it when somebody posts the same thread four minutes late and somebody has to go to their thread to say, Hey DUMBASS, it's been posted. I don't like when people knock other people's ideas because they have different viewpoints. Is my signature long? I think there should be more Kams in it.
