As BetterthanI put it, this site is not your personal blog to "report the news". What is there to D&D? We all agree most Americans are idiots. Its an objective fact that when people who hold their opinions as facts are idiots.
It's you that is misstating the facts. I said "is or might be," which includes "yes" or "maybe" on each of the above questions. On questions of racism, socialism, citizenship and wanting the terrorists to win, "maybe" is also a damning answer and one that proves idiocy.
Either way, it is an annoying and disappointing habit of yours, seeing as how you're a pretty smart/thoughtful guy on a lot of subjects. No one comes here to read a "newsfeed" from places like free republic, daily kos, etc. If it's topical news, sure, post the story and let 'er rip... but some kind of weird subjective poll or a youtube video is cheap when it comes to thread material... especially when presented in the way you and basso tend to present them (without any thoughts/perspective, and lots of inflammatory language)
My commentary was in my thread title and in subsequent posts. Since the poll shows a majority of Republicans holding completely insane opinions, I say they are idiots. It's you who is refusing to debate and discuss.
The news I reported is astounding. Commenting that it proves Republicans are idiots is a mild response. And it's not a subjective poll. Research 2000 is a respected pollster and is included in poll averages from respected sources such as 538.com and pollster.com. This is a classic case of bashing the messenger and ignoring the message.
At best it is a ridiculous and insulting response for you to say "it proves Republicans are idiots", considering that I consider myself a Republican and I would have responded "no" to those poll questions. I could probably pick 100 of my Republican friends at random and I suspect that 99% of them would also respond "no" to all of those poll questions.
You're right. My bad. I meant to say it proves a majority of Republicans are idiots, not all of them. But I do have to ask, as a Republican who isn't an idiot, aren't you alarmed at the poll's findings?
I reject the Daily Kos as a reliable polling outfit. These guys are the standard bearers for far-left ass-hattery. They are on a permanent, liberal Kool-Aid IV, and are as biased in everything they can ever reasonably hope to become. Seriously. Why would I pretend as if I regard a poll by the Daily Kos as a legitimate news source, when it should be regarded as just another piece of left-wing partisan propaganda, just like pretty much everything else they publish. Before I start discussing a poll's conclusions, I expect to first have a sense that the poll has at least a toe-hold on reality. Not that it needs to be completely unbiased, mind you. I just want to have some sort of loose sense that the poll is not a pure partisan fabrication designed to promote a partisan agenda from beginning to end, and nothing more. Unfortunately, I do not have that level of comfort with this poll, and in my opinion, neither should anyone else. The Daily Kos is the world headquarters for far left-wing partisan hate-mongering and propagandizing, and everyone with a brain in their head who follows American politics knows it.
To be fair to bobrek, I said "Republicans are idiots" in the post he quoted. I should have said most of them are, as evidenced by the poll. But I'm really confused about what's so controversial in my posts here. Is there anyone here who disagrees that people who think Obama is a racist who hates white people, isn't a citizen, is a socialist or wants the terrorists to win are idiots? I see a lot of people complaining about my posts and zero people disagreeing with the content of them.
Kos isn't the polling outfit; Research 2000 is. And, as I posted above, they are at least as respected as Rasmussen. Both outfits are included in virtually all polling averages. I'll ask again, which of the findings do you dispute?
Answering not sure to a question is hardly equivalent to answering maybe. Oh snap, wait a second, plurality means something different than majority. So the plurality of Republicans according to that poll believe that Obama was born in the U.S., that he doesn't want the terrorists to win, and that he doesn't hate white people. Oh crap! Those are all things you believe. I guess by your analogy that means you are an... Well. I won't say it.
word. And the morons don't even realize how ridiculously stupid they are...guess they are too busy looking to post articles of what other people say (because they are too narrow to have an original idea of their own) and throwing feces around to see themselves for what they really are. Losers who suck at life.
