to tell you all the truth...i have no freakin' clue. with all the injuries and the fact that we can look good for about a week, go 5-1 on a road trip then come home and lose by 13 to the raptors, i have no clue. we could win 30 or 45, it's really that open.
43-39 but due to everyone off injury and the team meshing together, makes it to the western conference finals. the rest is history
A record with 35-45 wins would probably be the worse case scenario. I'm hoping the Rockets go either the Astros route or the Texans route, but nothing in between. A 45 win season where we get knocked out in the first would suck.
I'd gladly take an 8th seed finish right now. I still believe that this team can beat anybody if we go into the playoffs healthy. The real worse case scenario would be for us to get into a huge hole and make a huge rally, only to barely miss the playoffs. That would be very disappointing, to get a low lottery pick instead of either a high draft pick or the playoffs.
after watching tonight's mess... i say we get about 35 wins. we can't win a single with all these guys out right now.
I was looking back at this thread I started... the Rockets did worse without Yao than I expected, but Yao came back earlier than expected. As a result: Predicted record through Feb 27th: 25-32 Actual record through Feb 27th: 25-32 Let's see how the rest goes. I predicted we would finish 18-8, and so far we are 1-2 since Feb 27th. That means we will have to finish 17-6 this year to make it, which is possible. If I were to make the prediction today, I would guess 15-8.... but close enough... I'll stick with the original to be optimistic. As mentioned above.... a season record of 43-39 (52.4%) would get us the 8th seed if no ones winning percetages changed. I think the best the Lakers could finish the season is with 15 more wins for a 45-37 record. I think the best Sacramento could do is 43-39. It could be close, but the only way the Rockets can really have a good chance is to get better and start beating some serious playoff teams in the West.... which is completely possible. I just wouldn't put money on it. Van Gundy must be riding these guys because he is looking at an end-of-season traffic jam for the 8th seed.
