Competition is the key to low prices. As long as Walmart doesn't become a monopoly or oligopoly, prices will remain low. They can set the price to whatever they damn please if there are no smaller stores competing with them in the surrounding areas though.

It's a shame that the people who enjoy Walmart so much don't get what it eventually leads to for employees and consumers. Clueless.

Screw Walmart and all of you people that give me Walmart gift cards for Christmas every year. Lazy bastards.

Does this mean we'll see more "People of Wal-Mart" emails go around?

Some of those pictures are disturbing....but funny.

I like the comedic effort of your post. A bit understated, but still funny.

    Nice work.

I have to admit, like using Walmart for household supplies and things of that nature.

That said, Costco freaks me out. I don't like buying food somewhere that feels so sterile and soulless and warehouse-y. I don't like buying food at Walmart because it's, well, Walmart. I don't like buying food at WholeFoods because I have no money, but I usually end up going there for stuff once in a while.

I've never really experienced any real relationship with like, mom-and-pop type stores that Walmart typically wipes out, but I'm definitely on a friendly basis with like, my butcher and my seafood guy and the people at the farm stands and farmers markets I go to in the spring and summer. I kinda doubt that Walmart's gonna be able to take out those businesses out any time soon, but I'd definitely be pissed if they did.

lol at walmart haters. i don't shop at walmart because there is a target closer to my house and i hate checking out at walmart. seriously, open up some freaking lanes or hire more cashiers.

anyhow, i love these people that cry about walmart because they offer low prices, good products, and a massive selection.

I had to go to walmart yesterday, was only the second time since they changed the store layout, it seems to me their hardware section has been replaced with little crap and the electronic section got overhauled. Its not the store itself that makes me not shop there its the r****d and his wife pushing 3 buggies, 2 full of kids and one full of soda and tv dinners.

I've never hated shopping like you, unless it is clothes shopping with a woman. Ugh. When I was little we always shopped on base, then we had all the large chains since my parents left the AF.

    More like Walled-Mart.

Soon they'll get people to move in to for all their daily needs.

    Lowest prices on the block?
If you don't like it, don't work there. If you don't like it, don't shop there.

I always assume that I'm missing something when it comes to the walmart arguments.

I don't understand how they are evil when most people prefer to shop at their stores as opposed to others. I mean, I could see if they were secretly setting fire to other stores but the stores are just closing down because they can't compete with walmart, right?

I can definitely understand people not wanting to shop at walmart but what are they doing that is so wrong?

I have been shopping at WalMart a lot more in the past 6 months because we buy our baby formula there. It's the same stuff as Enfamil and 1/2 the price. I can't wait for the day that my son is on regular milk so I can quit having to go there. I simply can't stand shopping there. That said, doesn't bother me that other people shop there and enjoy apparently enjoy the experience. They enslave...oops, I mean employ millions.
