#Progress: White to work out with member of Rockets staff at Toyota Center

I don't know much about Josh Innes. But it seemed Innes tried to goad him a little, and Royce was actually the bigger man there. Yes an actual credit for Royce conducting himself properly.

 

It is clear he is still thinking that the team does not do enough.....
'Protocol approved by team doctors.....but not by the team itself.....'
I still want to see him getting minutes to prove the point that he is a good role player but not a potential all star candidate IMO

 

I didn't mean it like everyone in the NBA is more athletic than White. I meant that there are plenty of players that are way more athletic and talented than White is...

 

They listed Royce White as a 6'8 PF but its is just me or does he look a bit shorter than that? Royce is more like 6'7 PF that has pretty good ball handling ability and strength but his athleticism is average and he doesn't have that type of length like other forwards in the NBA.

If Royce doesn't have that motor or the hard work put into his game, it will be really hard for him to succeed in the NBA. I know a few people here on Clutchfans mentioned how athletic he is but I think his athleticism is more average. So he doesn't have that explosive athleticism and length to help him get by in the NBA. He does have the strength and the type of skills to be a good player but his negatives easily outweighs his positives.

On top of not being athletic where he can just rely on that, he doesn't possess that lateral quickness to play the SF position and the shooting touch. Chandler Parsons, who is not as strong as Royce White or possess the talents & skills that Royce White have, but Parsons has length over White, more explosive, plus he is driven, motivated and an extremely hard worker. Parsons may not be as gifted as White is but he is a hard worker that works to improve on his game but he also possesses the lateral quickness to be a great defender and is pretty athletic.

Over, its going to be difficult for White to be an NBA player if this type of things gets to him. He haven't play a single NBA game and yet has created a lot of off court issues. Imagine if White was traded around to different teams and being moved to a different environment, how would he deal with that? Being traded or having to relocate to a new location and environment is just part of being in the NBA. I don't know if Royce understands this but I doubt any other team in the league would want to put up with him. Even though he is talented, he brings way too much baggage that teams would rather not get involve...

 

meh, the Rockets have enough moving parts this year anyway. Harden/Lin, Morris at the 3 or 4, Jones and Montiejunas getting their feet wet.... If Royce just sits out a whole year and comes in like a high draft pick next year that'll be fine.

He was jaw-dropping good in college, potentially worth the wait.

 

Royce is a legitmate 6-8, 270 lb MAN that sees the floor and handles the ball like a top flight point guard. For him to work as an NBA player, he has to become a dominant rebounder and pick and roll finisher as a PF. That is the start of everything for him...

 

He looks like a natural ballplayer. I could see him being a contributing part of this club if he can get his mind together. He should get all the support he needs from this organization as long as he's under contract. Good to have two beards on the team.

 

PS - He'd be a great guy as 6th man to put in when Harden or Lin go out. And with White, you could actually sit both Harden and Lin and have him run the show.

White needs to report, get in shape and get his ass to the D-League. I hope the Rockets make him earn it there first. That process seems like it is working.

Power foward... or even center... who rebounds ..defends the post..

Even though I hate White, he seems tailor made for the current Rockets offense. Every few other plays, we have Delfino or Chandler creating plays. I could easily see Royce doing the same thing.

This is part of the reason why I hate her so. If she wasn't such a selfish little #anxietyfreak girl, she'd be a good contributor with around 15mpg.

Anyway, what happens when Joyce explodes for a huge dunk and the opposing team whispers "dude, I didn't know you could fly like dat" and she starts to shrink?

 

This is a little harsh. I don't think it's right to taunt White about his anxiety. That said, make fun of the little b**** for all the b****ing he does! :grin: Seriously, he uses his anxiety as an excuse, and that's wrong.

 

I don't know which is worse, to write that you hate a person that you don't even know because they aren't doing what you want.

To throw away what could be a great NBA career that any man that ever had to get up and work at a job for years on end would love to have.

I guess they are both just the case of not knowing or understanding.

 

No, his handle is shaky as. He's more of a high post playmaker instead of your traditional dribble-pass point guard. His handles might be good enough for whatever league he played in, but its definitely not good enough for NBA.
