    That used to be the case, but is no longer true. Many young Chinese learn English from the Americans instead of the British now.

    I don't think there is a good solution but I think class rather than race is becoming more of a problem. While I think diversity is a good idea there are better ways of doign it than these type of racial set asides.

    i do believe in giving assistance to the underprivileged, but not in the form of "well you are a member of this race, thus despite your crappy scores, you will now get to take a seat of someone who had better achievements." if they just implemented programs like free test/subject based tutoring and such, we shouldn't need crap such as affirmative action.

    When I was a kid I knew this Chinese guy who grew up in Jamaica. Total Jamaican accent, if you didn't look at him you wouldn't have known he wasn't Jamaican.

    Anyways, I remember doing one of those fun college 'quizzes'. I think it was done by Kaplan or some other college related company. You answer questions based on grades, school activities, race, economic status, location, etc, and your final score shows how desirable you are to colleges. Suffice it to say, being Asian gave you negative points.
