This doesn't make a whole lot of sense seeing as how we have virtually the same personnel at TE/FB as we did last year when our RZ offense was top 5.

The only person we lost is Leach, and Casey/Vickers have proven more than capable of blocking.

And Leach almost *never* blocked for Schaub, either.

I do think Foster will help but I also do not like some of the slow developing pass plays they perform down there.

Side note, is it just me or does it seem that the texans are routinely starting 1st and goal at the 8 or 9 yard line:confused:

I want to see it as another sign to get a legit #2 receiver.

Texans only score in red zone with play-actions to tight ends or RBs who can find the goalline. And once in a while Andre Johnson. Its nice that Joel Dreesen can get in on the TD action, a score is a score I don't care if they move Eric Winston back to tight end and he gets scores.

But could use another RZ option besides double covered AJ then Foster and TE's alternating scores.

Vickers is a very good lead blocker, but I've seen Casey thrown around like rag doll a few times back there. I love what he brings to the game, but he can't be in if we're trying to punch one in close.

I generally agree that Foster and a fullback who's not actually a tight end should help. But I also think part of it is coaching.

I also believe different playcalling may be in order. There are lots of times when we should be taking shots into the end zone once we enter the 15-25yd range. This is still an area where defense can't pack it in so our offense can use various schemes to get receivers open. I really don't like conservative playcalling for such situations, as kickers can make fgs easily at this point anyway. So why not throw one up for Andre or Jacoby every time we get close? Once we're 1st and goal at the 8, that's no longer an option.

Someone needs to tell them to fall at the 11 so that we can get a 1st and goal at the 1.

Why isn't Andre an option in the red zone? If he has a weakness, that's it. He's great in the open field but doesn't seem to get open in a short field.
