I am Jewish. I was pointing out that @Bandwagoner and apparently you are only using a few pics of this woman to make the assumption that she's "obviously Jewish". What did you use to come to your conclusion that it's so obvious?

Fair enough. My apologies to @Nook. I missed that in the article and the way he wrote his post seemed like he was making an assumption based on...I'm not sure. Not sure what @Bandwagoner was going for though, by just posting the pics as if a person is supposed to know what he means.

Interesting read.

I find it funny that he points to the privilege of Obama and academia...... when the writer himself comes from privilege and is at least a third generation college professor, if not more (he has spoken in the past about this, but I heard him speak close to a decade ago and cannot remember all he said).

I will defer to him and others in the profession what is "expected" of black people in academia and politics.

 

Its interesting what you said about the Bathroom debate and I think it's underplayed how much that debate had to do with Trump being elected.

I think it was the tipping point when a lot of middle class mid west democrats said what does this have to do with me and what I am going through on a daily basis and felt that democrats were far more worried about niche issues.

It also emboldened the right to feel like victims and Trump fed into it and rode the aggrieved wave into the oval office.

I am all for trans rights but I think the democrats used that issue to pander and say look how righteous we are when there were more pressing issues to be dealt with.

So what restrooms are trans people currently using?
