Problems in our country that need to be dealt with?

    My top five:

    1. illegal immigration

    Sadly the core of the problem lies in our constitution, and therefore can never truly be solved.

    (I'm referring to the fact that children of illegal immigrants are U.S. citizens if they are born here).

    This country and its constition were founded on christian beliefs. Not any one flavor of christian religion (ie. catholicism, Methodist, etc.)
    Having moral values is the very backbone of this country and we can all thank the ACLU (American Communist Liberties Union) for this type of banter. Nowhere does it say you have to be a christian to be an american but there are societal guidelines that keep this country stable. Not to mention its pretty unnatural and a little dimntted...lol

    And as far as government healthcare goes........are you freakin' crazy? you think we have deficet problems now.....lol if you need proof just look at the other countries who have social healthcare like Canada, England, most counties in Europe....they are all broke.

    14th amendment: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

    Then, in US Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter III, Part I, section 1401, a definition is given for "citizens of the United States at birth"
    • Anyone born inside the United States
    • Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
    • Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
    • Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
    • Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
    • Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
    • Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
    • A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

    So when Pedro and Maria come here illegally, all 14 of their kids are citizens of the U.S. when they're born here. At the rate that illegal immigrants are coming over and having kids, this will completetly destroy the country.

    Well the idea of coming to America to change our culture is not really something I embrace. You don't have to agree with everything nor do we force you to change your ideals, but don't ask us to changes our for the minority either.

    Well the poor could start by getting a job and paying for it themselves, or maybe seek some charitable organization to help them. I'm certainly not willing to pay money out of my pocket for it which is what would end up happening under government sponsored health care. I already pay the max in income tax as it is at 38% and quite a bit higher then when you factor in all the other little pet taxes I pay out.

    1.) People forcing their ideals upon others.

    I voted for Bush and am more Repub/Libertarian, but anyone can frown upon actions of others. Coming from a muslim country, I see that "I know better so live like this or else" attitude and all it fosters is oppression. I don't believe in gay marriage, but its not my job to determine what some people should do.

    If a guy wants to be with another guy, if someone wants to do crack, be a prostitute or anything, that is their life. What interferes with this though is the insurance, healthcare system. Ultimately its a question of corporations giving insurance to gay spouses or paying for some crack-head's rehab, so they outlaw it.

    I drink alcohol and I like to go out and party till late. Many countries and people would disagree with that and it might not be the most responsible behavior but its what I want to do dammit. If I get drunk and drive then I must deal with the consequences, but do not take the right away from me
    to do so. Because this train of thought could say that junk food is bad for you, basketball is dangerous and virtually anything else.

    2.) Sense of Entitlement:

    I see that people in this country expect the 'government' to do things and seem to not understand that its coming from everyone's pocket and not some unlimited money pot. Many people will get voted into power by promising to give, give and give entitlements that I believe decreases productivity and increases dependance and promotes a poverty class.

    I'm tellin' ya... Originally, the native Americans lived here. Some people came from overseas found some people here and wanted to live here peacefully. At first the Native Americans were somewhat okay with it, but later fought it. But it was too late by then. There were too many over here already. And look what happened to the native Americans.

    I'm telling you, the same thing is happening with Mexico. If we control the immigration, we get a fine injection of Mexican culture (after all, the US is a great mix of cultures). But as it plummets out of control, we end up with too much Mexico. Now it's too late. There's too many over here. It's now just a matter of time before the U.S. becomes just another Mexican state. Hell, there's already a ton of businesses here flying the Mexican flag right next to the American flag.

    Other issues are important (corrupt government, morals, gay marriage, environment) but none of them will have the destructive force of illegal immigration.

    If we don't figure out how to make our economy/society work without oil most of us will be dead because of the lack of food.

    Poor people who makes minimum wages at Burger King does not deserve to have health insurance, if they get sick and die so be it. Even for those of us who have health insurance from work, if you get really sick and cann't work anymore (thus no more health insurance), too bad for you too, go die some where. However, we should have the national defense budget that is more than next 10 nations defense budget combined, there should be pork to build bridges to nowhere. I see this is just the way America is meant to be, a Christian nation where the helpless should just die, I am sure Jesus completely agrees with this.

    Why do you ask?

    If illegal immigration was not a problem, environment and oil would probably tie to be the biggest issues on my list (that says a lot from me, 'cause I'm not much of an environmentalist).

    I am absolutely, deadly serious.
