Who on the Steelers do you think got snubbed? I'd say that DeMeco Ryans deserved the reserve spot more than James Farrior.
You're not going to find much sympathy on a Houston message board. And you're welcome for beating the titans on Sunday.
Farrior: 112 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 5 passes defensed Ryans: 97 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 2 passes defensed #1(1) overall defense (ppg) vs #21(23) overall defense (ppg) Why exactly do you believe he deserved Farrior's spot? I'll make a list of snubbed Steelers... it'll probably kill my work day getting stats for the pro bowlers and Steelers. I didn't ask for sympathy; there are a few Steeler fans on the board to share in the grief. And thanks!
I'm sorry, but leading the league in assisting on tackles by defensive superstars does not a Pro Bowler make in my mind. Farrior has the same number of solo tackles as Ryans on a team that gets run against a whole lot more (Steelers-unhuman secondary, Texans have went from an awful secondary to a below average one as the season progressed). Farrior is a good MLB that gets the most help in the league.
Rushing attempts against the Texans: 387 Rushing attempts against the Steelers: 330 Total tackles by the Texans: 585 Total tackles by the Steelers: 564
I bet Cortland Finnegan is happy to be on the same team as Andre Johnson this time around. He's probably been having nightmares of AJ since Sunday.
Farve over Rivers is a complete Joke. John Abraham also snubbed big time. Wont even mention #20 on the Texans
Damn those stats. I've watched a lot of both teams and could have sworn differently. I wonder how many of the running attempts against the Texans were the fourth quarter run-the-clock out kind.
Sounds like you're making a case for some more Steelers! So, I was wrong. Stat-wise, quite sadly (hair has been pulled), I'm not able to justify any more Steelers. There are some players that I consider close, but unlike the NFL, I actually do believe in irrefutable evidence. Example, I think Woodley has had a better year than Suggs, but Suggs has 2 tds, which I can't really argue against. D-Line for Pit never get stats. They'll occasionally get a pro-bowl spot, when no one else seems to be especially good, but they're perennially passed over. CB/S isn't a position that I can make claims on how good a player is based on stats, since the best don't get thrown at. At least, that is what I'm telling myself, since I haven't really heard of Nnamdi Asomugha on the Raiders. I thought Taylor would be a lock for pro bowl this year, but a CB on the 29th pass defense (Revis) is better? Steeler O-Line is a joke + Roethlisberger holds on to the ball too long: killing any chance for OL, QB, WR, RB for a pro bowl spot. Apparently the best defense in the nfl doesn't deserve any more spots, because they are too good. Thread should be renamed to: (aka Jets, best team in football)
steeler fan myself but only 2 and 1 reserve? wow thats crazy hopefully it will just fire the defense up more to go out there and play with a chip on their shoulder. woodley has been playing great this year he should have been on there IMO
First-ever brother tandem playing in same ProBowl. I wonder if they'll ever be on the same team (backing up each other)...? Too bad Tiki retired.
Point taken that Andre Johnson had a career day against the Titans. Many of his receptions were not just on Finnegan. I still remember the one big reception where Finnegan was defending Johnson and they both went up for the ball. Johnson got it based on his height. Again not taking anything away from Johnson as he was truly a beast on Sunday (and most of the season). My only point is that Finnegan is one tough SOB and does not back down from any receiver. I still remember the first Titan/Texan game when Johnson was matched up on Finny and was held fairly quiet the majority of that game. Finny deserved the trip to Hawaii. For a 7th round pick he is a stud CB. Speaking of not deserving a trip is Kevin Mawae. Must of gotten their on name recognition.
I have no problem with who was chosen...Romo and TO haven't been great so they shouldn't be in...I'm ok with that...
