Apparently VY fans when they compared the number of pro-bowl appearances for Texans' QBs to that of Vince. As if it meant something. But now when he gets in as part of an obvious running gag it is meaningless to the same VY fans. And sorry, being named an alternate with a solid 2-1 TD/INT ratio/throwing for 4K plus yards/having a 90+ QB rating while leading your team to a possible play-off spot is a lot different than having average at best QB numbers/not playing in almost half the games while having a very nice run and being named an alternate.
Because of how he played. If they had won and he had an 11.2 QB rating, he'd still be getting raked over the coals because he played like ****.
This part made me laugh. Vince didn't lead his team from 0-6 to a "possible" playoff spot as you said? Name a time when any texans quarterback went 8-2 over 10 games. Is vince a pro-bowl quarterback? No. He just wins games, which is fine by me. Everyone getting upset over the pro-bowl is just wasting their time.
Why the hell would you guys bench a guy who went 13-3 over a full season and led you to the No. 1 seed in the AFC? He just wins, man!
What did he do in 2009? 0-6 man!!! Was it all his fault? No, but the team needed a change/spark, and it worked. As much as I disagree with Fisher benching VY in 2008/part of 2009, it looks like it will help him in the long run. I am still waiting for a time when any texans quarterback, or player, went 8-2 on the team? Guess you avoided that,or is it because it never has happened? Enjoy the 1st ever winning season.
They should change the rules for the pro bowl or something. Make it one big college overtime from the 50. Anything to give it some worth.
I avoided it because it's never happened for anyone, since no player wins or loses games on their own. Mark Sanchez has his team in the AFC title game, dude must be an absolute stud!!!
The titans are the only team in NFL HISTORY to go from 0-6 to 8-8, but you know what vy only had a small part in doing that.
The texans sure did make him look like one in week 1. You said that Schaub led his team to a "potential playoff spot", so did Kris brown right?
Same reason why people hate Colt McCoy or hate Ricky Williams or hate Kevin Durant or hate Austin or hate 6th Street or hate hills and lakes or hate Stevie Ray Vaughn or hate the color orange
My suggestion for the Pro Bowl is to play it on Saturday in the same venue as the Super Bowl on Sunday, like the NBA activities before the All Star game or the Home Run Derby in baseball. Just sort of an adjunct to the Super Bowl, a party for all the people already in town.
Young isn't bad and am happy for him as he is a Houstonian, but he didn't deserve to be there. There were a few guys that should've gone over him as pointed out already. As for winning, he does do that, but it also helps having the RB that they do. I would say that Johnson benefits from VY as well, but lets not make it a one man show. Also as for the 13-3 record, wasn't that Collins or am I just missing the sarcasm? Also it seems that the same people praising his 8-2 record will disregard our record due to an easy schedule. Same division son. Anyway congrats to VY, I hope he leaves the t*** some day soon.
Right, he had a part. The defense becoming competent had a lot to do with it too. As did slightly better luck and an easier schedule. Of those six losses, five came to the Steelers, Texans, Jets, Colts and Patriots - all teams with winning records. In other words, 1 of those 6 games - 17% - came against teams .500 or worse. Of the final 10 games, the Titans played the likes of the Niners, Bills, Rams, Dolphins and Seahawks. In other words, 5 of those 10 games - 50% - came against teams .500 or worse. All that said, was VY an upgrade on Kerry Collins? Of course. But he only played a part in that improved record. The defense becoming competent and an easier schedule, for starters, also paid huge dividends.
No, I definitely did not say that Schaub led his team to a "potential playoff spot". And yes, the Texans definitely have their issues as a team.
