True. Seriously, what are the chances that Kobe yells at a certifiable lunatic that's built like a brick (and who happened to break a couple of Michael Jordan's ribs once)? Zero.

Artest might be the best thing that might happen to Kobe in his career.

    Here is my prediction:
    1. On the first day of practice together, Kobe yells at Artest, and Artest says nothing.

    2. On the second day of practice, Kobe yells at Artest, Artest yells back and says "I'll meet your ****ing a** at the loading dock tonight at 8." Kobe yells back, "yeah, bring it!"

    3. ...

    4. After a couple weeks, Kobe mysteriously goes back to his goodboy days like fews years ago. He becomes "humble" and "respectful" toward his teammates, especially Artest. He calls Artest "my big brother".

    5. Media will praise him and start comparing him to Jordan again.

    6. ...

    7. Few months later, his wife files for a divorce...

I'd rather he just kick Kobe's ass from LA to SF.I would enjoy that more, and make sure Jim Gray has to interview Kobe with a banged up face.Kobe would say Vanessa did it and the soap opera that is the Fakers would kick into high gear as always.

For me, it's disturbingly easy to picture the team walking into the locker room to find a psycho-eyed, blood-covered Artest feasting on Kobe's heart, hunched over his body.

Yeah, but they wear tight outfits and dance during halftime and timeouts.

    SAM freakin' AMICO.

Dammit, people, how many of these "scoops" actually come to fruition?

He's probably going to Denver, though I'm surprised Orlando didn't make a bigger fuss then they did (not to get Artest, but to get involved with Hill's last two years).

Denver eh? How did George Karl manage to keep a handle on GP? He even allowed Mad Max to be brought in that madhouse....

Denver would be idiots to get Artest. What, Melo plays SG? Or does Artest play PF?

They freaking need to fix their logjam at PG and get some consistent outside shooting (preferably from the 2 guard). Artest does neither. I can just see that situation blowing up between Melo, Artest, Martin and Karl.

Outside of the Rockets, I think his best fit would be Minny. I think he an KG would work well with each other.

I just wish Indy would hurry and trade his a**! I'm so sick of seeing and/or reading about it every freaking day!

I hate it when quality players move from the East to West and we are not getting them. Why do they have to ruin my new year like that???

Hands down, the strangest dude to ever put on an NBA uniform. That's the only word for comments like that (taking into account his past comments and behavior). Not humble. Strange.

The same guy who allegedly worked at Best Buy on the weekends his rookie year for the employee discount. The same guy who ASKED for a month off to promote his R&B album. And continued to promote said album during the suspension. The same guy who said he would come off the bench behind Lebron immediately after voicing displeasure with his role in the Pacers' offense is now saying he's not top 12 but top 30. Not even taking into account his bad behavior, this guy is just flat out strange.

I don't understand why the Lakers are reportedly refusing to include Odom in any deal.

Why not a simple, two team deal:

Artest and Croshere for Odom and Medvedenko

I really think if push came to shove the Lakers would include Odom to get a better player in Artest. Indiana would get to move Croshere's deal off of the books like they've been trying to for years and take on Medvedenko's who is expiring.

Basically this is the only solution outside of some complicated, multiple team deal that could give Indiana equal talent in return for Artest. They came into this season as a championship contender and have been struggling. This definitely beats any "Superstar for trash" kind of deal along the lines of last year's Vinsanity, Davis and Webber trades.

A deal for Odom would instantly bolster their roster and help them to regain their dominance in that conference.

You put a lineup of Dre, Artest, Melo, K-Mart, Camby out there. We still don't have outside shooting, but does anyone honestly think that Greg Buckner is causing teams to worry about the long ball?

I've been saying that Artest would be a Nugget for some time, now we're just waiting to find the third team involved that can get this done. And I'm still holding on to dreams that we trade Boykins instead of Watson, but I know that won't happen. Dammit.

Nuggets4, Denver is the one team being talked about that really scares me if they get Artest. If it happened and the team's chemistry kicked in before playoff time, oooooh boy.

And I don't want Ron traded to a team he can help make a championship run right away. It would be like rewarding him for being a jerk.

At least he will stay in the East. I don't want him to come to the West if we are not the team which is getting him. He may be crazy but he is a damn good player.

Um, Denver is in the West.

Denver doesn't scare me if they get Artest. Their starting 5 will consist of a non-traditional PG who can't shoot, 2 SF's, and two big men who can't ever stay healthy. It may work. Hell, I'm no GM, but that team would look like a disaster waiting to happen with the bad mishmash of talent and (IMO) bad chemistry.

I think Artest needs to go where there is a CLEAR CUT leader on the team. That's why I think Minny should be his best match to play with KG.
