I just caught the story on KPRC news. Apparently there is a group claiming it’s false charges..?? What the F? I’d love to hear that side of the story. This guy was fired in 2003. You gotta do something pretty bad to get fired from being a chief.

Basic rule in life is more intelligence equals more options. And the more options you have the more likely you are to choose ones that make more money and don't have a risk of getting shot. I think the same is true for military. Both can be noble professions, but if you have options, those jobs aren't usually at the top of the list. I do have mad respect for the ones that do it right even if they weren't gifted with the highest IQ..

Agree. I think instead of having ticket quotas, they need to spend 50% of their time with community involvement - stopping by shops (besides donut) and such just to shoot the breeze. They have to get the trust built up.

And that is one of the things that the "reimagine the police force" effort in St. Petersburg is intended to do. Provide more time for police to train and also integrate within the community they tend to patrol.

I'm pretty sure he was talking Trump pardons since he's on his way out

Why would Abbot pardon this guy if he's not on his way out?
