Please realistic trades only. The Cavs are looking to get better not clear cap space for an expiring and project.

Hill is not better than Varejao and may never be.

Not bad, not sure if the Cavs would do it. Doesnt work on the trade machine straight up though.

    This works though..

Varejao is better than Hill... duh. But Varejao, and the rest of the Cavs roster are pretty much overpaid role players that were hand picked to fit with Lebron.
If the Cavs do not want to pay the clown the rest of that ridiculous $50mil contract, then why wouldn't the Cavs spring at a chance to get rid of him for an expiring and youth with potential? If they don't want Hill, then perhaps we can offer something else.

    Sincerely,

    The Knicks

(Seriously, though, I think Les is willing to take on salary . . . IF it clearly upgrades the roster in the process. The problem with that is, it takes two to tango. Few teams are willing to give up prime time players solely for financial relief. Sure, you can get a Yi Jianlian or a Kirk Hinrich that way. But not a Chris Paul or a Danny Granger. At least not yet. And even then, it will also take a bunch of young players and picks.)

Thank you. Could this some how be posted as a sticky that has to be read before posting a trade ideas.

Even Yi Jianlian and Hinrich transactions only occurred because teams were desperate to get under the cap so they might be a player in the Lebronomania. And even in thier effort to dump contracts, the only teams that were able to capitilize on that were teams that had space or exceptions to absorb those players.

We should consider ourselves lucky last year we were one of those teams that capitalized on the Knicks desperation to be under the cap far enough to sign 2 players.

But that was a perfect storm. We now have no space and a lousy 3 mil exception. So that means we have to give up quality to get quality back. Or at least give up potential quality to get something back. Maybe that's why Morey was so pissed at his teams performance. he wanted one of his guys to shine so some other team would covet them and give up a quality piece to get him.

You can't give up Jeffries and battier and get back Iguadola. Not unless you are going to throw in Brooks and the New York Picks.

I get so frustrated with these trades and also how more and more players we covet are going elsewhere. We really do need a backup for Yao. I love Hayes but he is just to small. We need an above the rim protector. Hill is better than I thought but I still see him a long way off.

The Rockets wanted Chandler and there was a way we could have him on the cheap but that way included Charlotte getting Beasley. Charlotte does not want our expiring trash for their expiring Chandler. Chandler now is rumored to be going to Toronto. Brad Miller is talking to other teams. What is going to be left.

Anyway cannibalizing only can occur in the right circumstances. And stupid trades with us getting Chris Paul for multiple contracts are not likely to occur even with the NY draft picks thrown in. Especially when a team with cap space, a really large trade exception or a non guaranteed player like Dampier starts the game ahead of us.

I wonder how many lottery bound teams have the Rockets as number one on this list with all the assets the Rockets have and a desire to compete now.

Well you can just about count Tyson Chandler out. He's pretty much going to Toronto.
