I've wanted Nash on this team for a long time.

I absolutely love Steve Nash. He might be my favorite non-Rocket in the league. However, I don't see how he could possibly fit with a Yao centered Rockets. The Suns were terrible with Shaq and Yao really isn't any quicker down the floor than Shaq.

Now, even if I'm entirely wrong about that (and being as I'm no coach, that's probable enough), I still can't see a reason to add Steve Nash. I don't think he's the piece that would make us a championship contender this season. And at 36 years old, there is no reason to give up assets for him unless he's the piece that could bring you the championship.

    1. New Orleans- I do not want to crush any of your dreams, but can everyone stop with the "lets trade garbage for Chris Paul" nonsense. Yes, Shin is trying to sell the team, but if he cannot sell it with Paul who is going to buy it without him. The potential buyer has already stated that the negotiated price is for the team with Paul, and New Orleans management have made it clear that Collison is available, but not Paul.

    2. Phoenix- I would be all for Nash, but never have been a an of Barbosa.

    3. Golden State- As long as Nellie is involved, the Rockets should target Anthony Randolph. I don't know if they ever patched up their relationship, but if they haven't, Randolph could be had for cheap.

    4. Cleveland- Why would you want any player from this team if his name is not LeBron?

    5. Indiana- Not sure they will be taken advantage by other teams. Even though they are losing money, they don't seem to have any hurry to move Granger and would only move him if the offer was good enough. If it is true they turned down New Jersey's offer before the draft, then that should give you an idea of how much they would want for Granger. Still doable, but I think it will cost more than you think it will.

    6. Philadelphia- Elton Brand's contract is the real cannibal in this case. Iguodala is attainable, but his contract isn't great either.

    7. Minnesota- Can we please stop with this infatuation with Ricky Rubio? Not saying that he isn't an intriguing player, but Morey is not going to magically pry him away from Khan. Rubio is Khan "get out of jail free card." No one know how good he can be or will be. He also isn't expected to come over until 2012. If Khan cannot overcome his incompetence and put together a good team by then he can use Rubio as a trade chip to undo any mistakes he has made. Ricky Rubio as a throw-in in a trade with Minnesota is not going to happen!

    8. Memphis- As incompetent as some front offices may appear, you are truly delusional if you for a second believe Memphis will give anything away for Jeffries. The Pau Gasol trade at worse was a salary dump, so if you want something of value from ANY team it will be coming over with an appropriate or overpriced tag.

    9. Utah- Be serious.

    10. Denver- Reports are saying that Carmelo is going to sign the extension so that's off the board.

Its not the message boards. Its the message. One person from another team visits. We get all excited about deals we have in place and leak them out to each other. Then that person travels that info back to their teams site and they start talking about it. It becomes common knowledge and before you know it another team wants in. Thats the way rumors and info works. Its very common knowledge and practice these days. Thats why twitter was created.

I think the Suns are prime pickings, Amare is gone, the West is always tough, and their best player is 36.

Jason Richardson if anyone is interested is expiring and the Suns may want to get something for him. Just sayin'

Marc Gasol is also expiring and will be looking for $$$ and David West is expiring.

I'd look at Al Jefferson but only if he comes along with Rubio.

Carmelo, CP3, and Granger are the guys I would be targeting. As Morey said we need a legitimate star, we have plenty of close to stars in Martin, AB, and Scola. We also have the expiring contracts, picks, and young talent to outbid anyone in case of a firesale.

That must be why everything that RealGM and ESPN "reports" actually happens. I'm surprised that people don't realize that David Stern invented the internet for teams to test out trades.

Yes, GMs of teams look on fan message boards to look at speculated trades.

Jason Richardson doesn't help us. Wouldn't trade any picks or talent for him.

Gasol is expiring but he would come at not only a salary cost but a talent cost.

West has a player option for 2011/12.

I agree on Big Al. Don't want him unless he comes with Rubio.

Now I'm reading that GS is sending Randolph to the Knicks for a S&T David Lee. Hope that doesn't work out.

If LBJ bolts out of Cleveland, maybe Morey could get Varejao in a trade...a nice backup to Yao.

Looking for teams to pillage makes sense but I like to look at players FIRST.

    Top targets:
CP3 - I know NO says he is not available but he is the only way they are going to cut salary and they have a viable replacement...
Marc Gasol - If you can get this guy, you do it. Big, talented and cheap... do it Morey
Big Al - LA has Bynum, we could use this guy, and Minny is stupid so go Morey

    Wants:
Granger - Indiana would have to join the D league if they lost this guy, but I really don't care about Larry.
Melo - Not possible but whooooh I would love this guy in a Rockets uni.

The rest of the players in that list, no thanks, unless Utah decides they love the Rockets and want us to have D Wil.

Cavs starting lineup: Anderson Varejao, Antwan Jamison, Jamario Moon, Anthony Parker, Mo Williams

Isn't Andy supposed to be a player Morey likes? Longest contract on the Cavs right now. 5 years totalling $41,840,949.

Rockets could possibly send 125% worth of expiring contracts to help relieve them of that commitment.

God that team is terrible. No wonder Lebron left (I still can't respect joining the Heat though).

Varejao is the only player on that roster I would be interested in. He is a dirty, flopping POS but he would be fantastic as a back up center/forward. I'd say he's too expensive to justify him as a backup, but when you consider we can't depend on Yao's health - I feel like we need to spend money there.
